How difficult is it to skip your child up a grade while homeschooling with the R-4?

I realize it's a strange question, but I'm curious. Especially if all you're doing is moving the child to their "age appropriate" grade level (not really seriously advancing them). Does anyone know? Thanks.

I can't imagine why it should be any problem - no more than it would be for a Baptist or Waldorf or Montessori or Catholic school, all of whom file the same form (which is now just referred to as the PSA, Private School Affidavit, since it's no longer a paper form).

If you're wanting to graduate your child especially early, though, that could be problematic, since the law says that ""[A]ll children between the ages of 6 and 18 must attend a public full-time day school..." - but I graduated from a public high school at the age of 16, so that's an interesting question. So if it's early graduation you're interested in, you might want to go to the HSC (HomeSchool Assn. of CA) email list - there are over 3,457 members, some of which are lawyers who are familiar with CA laws pertaining to homeschooling - and ask there.  - Lillian
