Hi Dr. Sears,
I have 21 month old monozygotic twin boys. They both had tongue tie, and one was also born with aposthia and a sacral dimple which my doctor is calling spina bifida occulta. We have not yet explored the sacral dimple with a scan, and are not sure how far in it goes. My question is whether these abnormalities might indicate other midline problems. Is there anything else I should have checked out? I've also noticed, though I forgot to bring it up at his last check-up) that the right side of his rib cage sticks out a bit more than the left.
Although is is a bit smaller than his twin (50th percentile vs 10th percentile) he is bright, active, and is hitting all his milestones.
