My dh is in the Army National Guard, but he has been deployed twice(once to Afghanistan in 2007 for 15 months, and then to Kuwait---he missed basically my whole.pregnancy and.the first 10 months.of ds's life) so i feel like i am.a weird hybrid of a military wife, since i.have no.idea.about "normal"military life.

I don't think there is a *normal* when it comes to military life. :)

Agreed! If there's a uniform involved, and you know what it's like to do without him while he's away serving, or deal WITH him when he's coming home every night after serving, lol, that's about as much "normal" as any of us get! ^_^ The moving around, time with other military wives, etc etc aren't always part of the experience, even for full time service members.
