Fun with gender prediction anyone?

So when I was pregnant with my boys, I checked the Chinese gender calendar, just to see. It said they would both be girls! Then I recently found something online that said you need to go by your lunar age to have the chart be accurate. I checked what the gender should've been with my boys... and it said boys! And this time around it says girl. Anyone else want to check? Curious if those of you with kids found this to be accurate based on lunar age.

So I'm being a dork and checked what my sister and I should've been-- I was girl, she was boy!

Says boy.  Said boy with my girls...

That was really fun! The gender predictor says I am having a girl but the chart says I'm having a boy. My OB says shes 95% sure it's a boy based on the U/S (although it is really early to tell). I checked my sister's kids and it was correct for 2 out of 3.

Both of the charts say girl for me... we shall see!

The chart says boy for me, but there are two...so...I dont know how to do that.

And then, there is what we tried for. We TTC very hastily after the loss of my son, and wanted another boy very badly. We used the Shettles method, and DTD as close to ovulation as possible to try for a boy. I'm fairly sure I ovulated twice (at least that is what the OPK said) and we DTD on the day of ovulation both days, so I have no clue how that Shettles method works when twins are involved.

But, in my past experience (just a coincidence, we were trying for any particular sex) Shettles method applies to my kiddos. We DTD 3 days before ovulation with DD, and the night of ovulation with DS.

I think we did something like this, just to see if our guesses were right, in my last DDC, and then came back to update when we knew (whether that be after birth or after a US)
My prediction/intuition: two boys
My hope: boy and a girl
It's actually: ??

The Chinese gender chart has been right for me every time and it says girl this time. I did the baking soda test and it fizzed which means boy. We'll see in February! orngbiggrin.gif

What's the baking soda test??

You put some baking soda in a cup and pee on it. Bubbles equal a boy and no bubbles means a girl. It apparently has to do with the acidity of urine? I don't know how accurate it is, but it is kind of fun.

Okay I just tried it and got girl. We shall see!

fun!  The predictor with the lunar age was correct with both my boys and says this one is a boy, too.

will have to try the baking soda one, never heard of that.

with the lunar age it was right for #1, and #2 , but wrong for #3 .. says this one is a boy!

Here's a list of old wives' tales that can help you guess if you're having a boy or a girl. According to these, I am having a girl. I copied it from http://www.pregnancyandbaby.com

You may be having a girl if:

  • You are craving sweets or fruit (candy, ice cream, bananas, apricots)
  • A ring hanging from a string over your belly moves in circles
  • You feel less-than-beautiful during your pregnancy (perhaps the baby is stealing your beauty!)
  • You carry high and wide
  • Your belly looks more like a watermelon than a basketball
  • Your Linea Nigra (the dark line that some women see on their bellies during pregnancy) runs from your pubic bone to your belly button
  • Your hair is duller and drier than normal
  • You experienced morning sickness regularly
  • Your left breast appears larger than your right
  • You tend to sleep on your right side
  • Your skin looks worse when your pregnant (as in, you start getting pimples)
  • Cold feet are not among your pregnancy complaints
  • The year of conception and the mother’s age are both odd or both even numbers
  • The baby’s heart rate is 140 or higher
  • Your nails are weaker and more brittle than before
  • Your rear-end looks pretty much the same now as it did pre-pregnancy
  • Your face becomes rounder and more plump
  • You can eat a clove of garlic and the smell does not linger
  • You avoid eating the ends of a loaf of bread
  • You dream of having a boy

You may be having a boy if:

  • You are craving salty or sour foods (pretzels, olives, cottage cheese)
  • A ring hanging from a string over your belly moves back and forth
  • You feel more beautiful during your pregnancy
  • You carry low and in front
  • Your belly looks more like a basketball than a watermelon
  • Your Linea Nigra runs from your pubic bone to your rib cage
  • Your hair grows faster and darker than usual
  • You did not experience morning sickness for any length of time
  • Your right breast appears larger than your left
  • You tend to sleep on your left side
  • Your skin is clear and beautiful during your pregnancy
  • Your feet feel colder when you’re pregnant
  • The year of conception is an odd number and the mother’s age is an even number (or vice versa)
  • The baby’s heart rate is less than 140
  • Your nails grow faster and stronger than before
  • Your rear-end is growing as fast as your belly
  • Your face appears long and narrow rather than full and plump
  • You eat a clove of garlic and can smell it for the rest of the day
  • You want to eat the ends of a loaf of bread
  • You dream of having a girl

According to that list, I'm 8 for girl and 4 for boy.

This is a strange one, but I did notice the other day that I was avoiding the crust on my toast.

Interesting!  These are the ones that apply to me right now, some I don't know yet... but odds are slightly in favor of a boy according to this. Of course I had pimples before getting pregnant too from going off BC, I'd say it improved slightly but I still get a lot of them.  And my right breast has always been larger so I don't know if that counts  lol.

The lunar one is right for three of my four kids and it says this one is a boy.  I hope so.  ;)
