Just wondering if folks would like to keep a informal role call, maybe see where we are all scattered around. I know a few bases have a handful of Mothering mamas and papas at them.

Please post and i will compile data, only share what you feel comfortable doing and keep in mind OPSEC and don't share anything that is bad for your soldier.

we used to do introductions from time to time so that hte new folks could see who else was around here, things have gotten a bit slow since we moved to a social group, in part i think because folks dont know when new threads happen.

so maybe this will help pull us back together.

AFM (as for me)  we are in the DC area now and PCSd here when i was 21 weeks preggo with my twins who were later born at what is now the new Walter Reed.

i love the new city but am finding military life hard right now in part because folks are very scattered here with no real base life and no real unit life.  but motherhood keeps me busy and DH likes his job a lot, he works with rehabilitation of injured soldiers.

if folks that are posted nearby want to meet up, i would be open to that.

Looks like we just missed you Adorkable. We were stationed at WRNNMC the past 4 years and just PCSed to Fort Bliss. I am definitely missing all my wonderful friends n DC plus the trees and grass. This is our first time on a "real" base and it is different. We've only been here a month so I'm trying to give it some time. I am an AD spouse.in the army. 4 years active, 4 reserves prior to that. We have 2 girls - a 3.5 year old and a 3 month old. Would love to meet local moms!

I'm Sarah. I've been in the Army for almost 15 years. DH is in the military, too for almost the same amount of time.

We're stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA and have been here almost 3 years.

We have two daughters, the oldest is almost four and the baby is one.

I am Michele I spent 10 years in he air force, medically boarded.
Dh is in the army for now. He has 25 years in we have been together for 14 years. We met when I was in and we were dual military for several years, my job was one tht worked on army post so it worked.
We have 8 kids, one due in dec.
We are at drum but if everything goes right we will be in AZ in the spring and retired from the army, if not we stay here

I'll join! I'm a fairly new USMC wife, but my background's very military-intense - grew up a 3rd gen Navy brat, MC grandchild, and had a brief stint as a Navy wife in my early 20s. I get teased at Nav Fed because my member number's so low, lol. We're at Ft Story, Virginia right now, but are PCSing to Miramar, CA in the fall. DH has been in for 9 years (literally skipped his senior trip in high school to go to boot camp, bless him), we've been married for almost 2. Expecting our first LO in Feb. My gut tells me there's a deployment in our future, prob next spring, but I'm grateful to have him home right now! Especially since I'm trying to figure out how to get all our critters across country while maintaining my (already limited) sanity.

Michele, DH is an AZ boy. We're planning on settling somewhere between Phoenix and Flag once he's retired - a mere 11 years away, if he gets out at 20 like he promises to do. We'll see.

Adorkable, glad to see your DH is on staff at Walter Reed, rather than being treated! You can keep the hug from my other post, though, lol.

Hi Ladies!  

My dh is an AGR with the WI Nat'l Guard, and is currently deployed.  He's due back within 4-6 weeks, thank goodness!  I feel like I've been managing/surviving for this whole last year, that I've been handling everything well, but I swear this last week I have been losing it.  Losing focus, losing stamina, losing my memory and sanity.  I'm hoping this "fog" won't be staying with me until dh gets home!!

Hello! My DH joined the Army after being a minister and working a corporate job for a few years. We jokingly refer to him joining as his midlife crisis, and so far we have enjoyed it. He isn't currently deployed, but will be this winter. He has served for almost 2 years. We are currently at Fort Bliss.

We have 3 kids with surprise #4 on the way! We're nervous about having 4 kids, but very excited to add another little one to our family. And we are always interested in meeting new people.

I've not yet gone through a deployment so I can only imagine how difficult it is to run the home completely by yourself. I've gone through my husband's medical residency and that was hard enough! I hope things are going a little better for you. You are soo close to having him back!

Congratulations on number 4!! Hope your husband will make it home before the baby gets here. I was going to send you a private message but it won't let me. Myself and another military wife are trying to bring the Azure Standard Coop here to El Paso. Right now it only has a drop in Las Cruces. Let me know if you are interested.
