So....after 10+ years of lugging around a giant photo storage box, I finally went through it. You know....all those weird photos of an old aunt that somehow end up in one's posession?
Then I found the old scrapbooks from high school. I ran cross-country in high school and I had an amazing time. I'm very sentimental about that time in my life (I finally figured it out-- it was one of the few times ((not counting having my own family)) where I really felt like I belonged in a group and wasn't an outsider.) So, for me, it holds a lot of good memories.
Also doesn't hurt that I had a smoking hot bod from all that running. (30 something me is JEALOUS.)
Anyway-- I'm finally making myself cut down all those pictures to just one album. Pictures of me running...of the group in different situations. Part of me feels bad because I'm taking apart old albums and I'm not including as many pictures...but part of me just wants to simplify it.
Has anyone else done this? Just simplify tons and tons of photos and memories into a smaller number? Am I one day going to regret not having the picture of Friend X or Friend Y (who I haven't spoken to since I was 19 or so) at that New Years party? Or is it okay for me just to have a very small variety of pictures of me and my life at that time?
