how are your boobs feeling?

I had hardly any breast changes with DD, so I'm trying to gauge what's "normal." I am having shooting breast pains randomly throughout the day, super sensitive nipples, and I'm unable to sleep on my stomach because the discomfort wakes me up. What are your mammary symptoms? ;)

oh yeah, i've got all those same symptoms!

and they are getting HUGE! :(  i would be happier, but the last two pregnancies my boobs got huge and the aftermath is....not so pretty. :'(

but no worries.....its worth it. and they look fabulous for awhile, at least. ;P

I am currently nursing, i have super sore nipples, shooting pains, and tenderness - but they aren't growing at all ..

I have some nipple soreness when my little guy nurses and am very sensitive at other times (like when DH wants a feel, I nearly jump out of my skin, lol!).

I had the shooting pains in the earlier weeks, I'm almost 12w now and they're just achey all the time.

My nipples are ridiculously sensitive. No one is allowed to even look at them, let alone touch them. I am wearing bras with a little padding as protection against the rest of the world and am SO thankful ds2 weaned several months ago. I would not be able to handle nursing at all.

My breasts are really small and they've grown a little, about the same as other pregnancies so far.

I was fine until just recently. I don't know if it's my 10mo teething, or pregnancy stuff. My guy is starting to bite down and pull off rather than unlatching nicely, and it about shoots me through the ceiling every time. I've noticed pain like I remember during pregnancy, though, just tenderness and mild pain, where you don't want any little guys bumping into your chest. :)

I've been having a horrible time telling whether DD is latched on well or not.  It hurts almost all the time when she nurses, but sometimes worse than others, and I find myself letting her get pretty lazy with her latch just because I can't tell if it's hurting because she's just latched onto the nipple or if it's just a little more sensitive at that moment.  I also am suspecting a mild yeast infection on the nipples since she's got a yeasty diaper rash and I'm actually dealing with a little external yeast infection too.  Does anyone know if you would see yeast on nipples or how do you tell if that's what's causing the pain?  She doesn't have thrush (she's 2 1/2 years old).

Bramblebery - yeast on the nipples could look red, shiny or scaly and would likely itch, and possibly cause shooting pains in the breast ..  if you even think you may have thrush/yeasty nipples you should take some heavy duty probiotics, and make sure to wash your bras daily in hot water and/or sun them to kill the yeast..  and i'm not sure what treatments are safe while pregnant, i'd think most of them but you should check with a doctor or LC - if you have thrush it CAN get worse if you leave it alone, it can move into the breast tissue and just be a bit pain in the rear..

all that being said,  My pregnant-nursing nipples feel similar to thrushy nipples, but without the redness/scaly/shininess or itchy skin (most of the time, sometimes they do itch, but i do NOT have thrush and its felt like this with every pregnancy)  .. i have shooting pains and pain while nursing - it feels like DD is never latched right and like she is pulling off even when she is latched fine.. (my DD is 22 mo) pregnancy hormones can cause some serious nipple pain ..

I jumped up at least a cup size a few weeks ago but didn't get much sensitivity. Am guessing that will happen a little later. I'm at 9 weeks and 2 days and not showing so I just look like I have a really skilled plastic surgeon. ;) Having fun with my hubby's jaw-on-floor reaction.

Question for those of you who have nursed during other pregnancies:  Did the nipple pain go away (or at least improve) when the morning sickness went away?  It seems like my nipple pain started and has increased along with my morning sickness, so I've had hopes that it might improve when my MS fades...

I've nursed through 2 pregnancies (this being the 3rd) For the most part, the nipple pain stuck around for me, and got worse after the first trimester for me - i assume because after the first trimester my milk dries up (around the time my m/s clears up, my milk is usually gone by 13-15 wks) once there is no milk, it hurts more .. Then toward the very end i get more colostrum and it hurts a bit less again.  I always have one side that hurts worse than the other too and i have no idea why that is..

I can't even imagine nursing right now. You girls are real troopers!  I had boob symptoms early - before I even had MS - always my first symptom of pregnancy. I have this continuous dull ache in the sides and tops with intermittent sharp, shooting pains. I didn't really go up in size until this past week. Bought a new, larger sized bra but can't stand wearing it. Also, I get this burning pain at times. And if I bend down to pick something up, I get shooting pains and they feel so heavy. Nice cleavage though. DH has trouble maintaining eye contact.nursex2.gif

I actually think that nursing helps take away some of the sensitivity.  When pregnant with DD1, my boobs hurt so bad, I couldn't lay down, couldn't stand any pressure at all.... it was terrible.  This time and with DD2, I don't have the sensitivity except right on the nipples.  The breast tissue is not sore at all.  My MW said she sees that a lot, that nursing seems to make the sensitivity less.

Anyways, nipples are a little sore when DD2 nurses, but not terrible.

I'm baffled by all you nursing pregnant mums. I have to grit my teeth to get my bra on in the morning, so I can't even imagine what it must be like to have a little body suctioned to my nipples.

The thing for me is that I don't like to sleep with a bra on, so first thing in the morning when I take the first step out of bed gravity takes my boobs and it really hurts for the first minute or so. Also, my cat ran across my chest the other day and the yelp I let out was so loud it scared the bejeesus out of both her and me.

My last pregnancy breast pain was AWFUL for me at around 5/6 weeks, the day it started (before I knew I was pg) it was like an all over tingly stinging, I had to strip, I was like WTH??!

This pregnancy I have only had a few days of mild tenderness, and one or two random days of the shooting pains in just one boob, but they've definitely been filling out nicely.  I love these boobs!

my nips have been hurting SOOOO bad. it's awful. i'm dreading breastfeeding.

thankfully my boobs have not gotten any bigger...they're already huge. like, middle of the alphabet big. haha.

Mine always grow and I have to say I hate it!  They hurt and my cute bras are too small!  I wore a sports bra all last week and I'm off half this week so they're going free.  Helps a bit.

My pregnant nipples are way more sensitive than nursing nipples. Once baby gets the latch right (some have no trouble at all with this) and after the first few weeks, nursing nipples are made of steel. wink1.gif

my nipples hurt so bad!!   DD is getting k-9s  and for some reason that always goes along with me being pregnant (with all my kids) and i can never tell if the crazy soreness is due to those teeth and a latch change, or due to pregnancy - either way, one of my nipples actually has a bit of a scab now, and is all pink..  OUCH.  I'm starting to night wean DD because of this..  its going well. thankfully cause i can not handle all day/night nursing right now..
