revamped 80s characters

What do you think of all the revamped characters that we loved so dearly from our childhoods? I think Strawberry Shortcake looks cheap and ugly now, nothing like her original self. Rainbow brite was awful but thankfully a very brief run. My little pony is very anime looking now and ugly IMO. I didn't mind the revamp of the ponies from like 8 years back but this new stuff is awful. If they are going to radically change something I don't see why they even bother doing it. Just make a new character! In my opinion they are all made to look older, cooler, and sexier.

My early childhood was in the 70s, but I don't like the remakes of Little People, Monopoly, Candy Land, etc. either!

Agree! I loved the little people from the 70s! And barbie looked better back then too!

I totally agree! I hate them too, they are not staying true to the characters at all.

I completely agree with this. What was wrong with Shortcake and her friends being ragamuffins? That was part of the fun! As for My Little Pony (my FAVORITES!) I do know for a fact that whoever owns them (Mattel?) sold the original molds years ago, so even if they wanted to make them look the same, they wouldn't look *exactly* the same. I hate that so many of our toys are now giant head/giant eyes. Gross. We don't buy any of it.. Yet *sigh* I have a whole giant bin of my MLPs that my kids can have some day :)
