should I be able to feel my uterus?

I am 8 weeks 4 days pregnant with#5 God willing

Just went in for my 1st appt. She didnt do the internal with her fingers and then other  hand on the abdomen to palpate like they do. Instead she just felt with her hands on my abdomen. She said she couldnt feel my uterus, but wasnt worried about it.

Do you think I should be feeling more of a swelling by now? I have a reteroverted uterus, but with my little girl, I thought I could feel my uterus around 8 weeks.

Also we couldnt really hear a heartbeat but she picked up 168 and 183 on her doppler screen? was that baby?

8 weeks is still pretty small and likely still below your pubic bone. We couldn't hear the heartbeat until about 12 weeks with this one.

8 weeks is a little early, even for baby 5. With my last baby (#4) I think my uterus was tipped (I don't know for sure, just many signs pointing to it) and my uterus couldn't be felt at 12 weeks. With my third it was a good 1-1.5 inches above my pubic bone at 12 weeks so I kind of freaked. All was well though, and by 20 weeks I was measuring 25. I am 10w4d with #5 now and think I may be able to feel it, but I don't know for sure. I try not to worry, I honestly don't place a ton of stock in FH measurements, there are a lot of variables.
