short-term apprenticeship opportunities

Thread Starter

I am looking for places that have short term apprenticeships the way Casa used to provide. I have three young children so traveling somewhere for months at a time is not an option and I still hope to find someone locally who will apprentice me eventually. I applied to a school in Utah that I was considering who does week at a time stays, but I have lost their reply email and cannot find the website for it. If you know of a school or midwife anywhere (outside of US is ok, but I don't know any other languages yet) who takes on apprentices for short bursts of study time, would you list it here, or if you know of a thread that discusses it already, will you link to it here? TIA

BirthBliss,

How long were you at the birth center in Utah? What was your experience like? How many births were you able to attend in that time?

I was there for almost 2 mo last spring . I also was back in nov to get paid to work.
In the spring I did 19 births, working w the midwife, heather who owns birthing your way and also another midwife, melody.
I liked it a lot. The mw's there do a lot w essential oils, homeopathics and some herbs, which I liked a lot and there are a lot of ladies having babies. We also did a breech. There was lots of prenatal visits as well. you can stay at the birth Ctr which I recommend because then you are around for surprise visits, to be there easily when a mama comes in labor etc.
