Are you showing? When did you show last time around?

I'm just wondering when I am going to show! I am only 5 weeks so it won't be today, but this is my third and I know it will likely be sometime in august or maybe september if I am lucky. I am not ready to share the news yet! I also can't remember when I started showing last time or when I broke out the maternity wear....I would love to hear from all of you! Most of you are ahead of me as I'm due at the end of march...are you showing? When did you start showing last time? How many weeks were you able to hide your bump once you had ''popped''?!

Please share!

Yes! Well, I sometimes looked like some people do when they were 6 months pregnant before I got pregnant!  But I was able to suck that in a bit if needed or I could have strengthened my abs had I found time between all the kid care!

I think I will be able to hide it a bit for some time mostly because I still have a belly from my last baby and people may wonder, but won't ask!

Have people noticed that you have a bump? Can you hide it?

yeahthat.gif  Same here. I think the fluff that's left over from ds's pregnancy & a stressful past year (I've gained about 5 pounds in the past year) with cover the actual belly for a bit. I think I'll try to buy some concealing clothes until the belly starts looking more preggo and less chunky. Although, DH said that he "felt" that is was getting bigger already, so who knows.

This is my second pregnancy. Looking back at belly pics from ds, I really didn't show until 20+ weeks. So, we'll see. I was in better shape then, but still had a bit of fluff going into that pregnancy as well. My guess is that I'll start looking pregnant between 12 & 15 weeks.

I remember last time telling my fifth gradrs at around 18 weeks and they were like, duh i knew it! So i guess i was showing before that. I was definitely in maternity pants by then. If all goes well, i hope, ill be starting the school year at around 13 or 14 weeks. I hope i can hide it at least past the first days when parents come in and meet the teacher. Well see i guess. Sorry about the typos, btw, somebody disabled auto orrect and ipad typing is tricky.

Eta - i also have some fluff left from being pregnant with dd, and somebody already put their foot in their mouth last winter and asked (8 mo post partum) if i was prEg with number 2. Poophead, lol. So hoefully evperybody will be too polite to ask.

Haha.. Yes it is! I almost never post when on the ipad because its such a nightmare. With or without auto correct!

On to the subject at hand... I am very much pooching out, I am 9 weeks and 4th pregnancy. DP can feel it when I hug him, he says it pokes into him. It's very strange because this last week, I suddenly felt pregnant. Does that make any sense? It was all of a sudden, I could feel that my uterus had grown and was getting heavy. I can't fit into the jeans anymore, when I am sitting they dig right across my lower belly and hurt... That is super disheartening! I told DP I really needed to get some black yoga capris, I only have one pair and they are the most comfortable thing I own right now... Must get more!

I'm a fat mama, so I probably won't look pregnant for a while: just fatter.

Yup, I have tummy fluff too. so.. Until I get that nice round preggo belly I'll just be looking like a fatso :P

I am definitely not showing at all, only 5 weeks 5 days. I workout a lot, so I'm not sure if that will keep me from showing, or perhaps make me show more?? This is my first so it will definitely be interesting to see what happens with my body!

I'm not showing, but I'm super bloated and already had a few pounds to loose.

fat tummy + bloat = not fitting into clothes too well right now. I just feel blech for the most part.

Last time with DD, I felt like I was showing a lot sooner than I was. When I Iook back at pics, 4-5 months you could see a bump for sure.

hhhmmh...I see a theme here!

I'm also not showing, but wish I was because I'm just bloated and still have the tummy chub from last pregnancy.

Ironically, before the last pregnancy, back in january, I was on a super determined "get some abs showing" regimen!!!

I'll cross this bridge when we get there, but I know that in september, when school starts, I'll probably be in that awekward "whoa, you've gained weight but you don't look pregnant stage", and I"m pretty sure my students will notice!

You know, I had zero idea I'd end up pregnant now. It was over a year since my miscarriage and my periods were still irregular. I had even just been prescribed clomid and didn't take it, like oh, maybe I'll just hold off for a while and get skinny before hand so I can be cute when I'm pregnant..

The universe replied with a loud and enthuasiastic NO.

7 weeks pregnant here. I'm short and pretty trim, so bloat + not sucking it in = looking 12-16 weeks pregnant (for me). I've only had one other child. I too am dreading having to tell folks at school in a few weeks. I'm starting a new school and I'm a little afraid that showing up preggers might rub some the wrong way. Since I teach theatre and dance I get to wear lots of stretchy clothes, but the trick is going to be finding tops that don't make me look fat, or pregnant, yet are cool enough to wear in our non-air conditioned building.

Update: After I told my in-laws last night, my fil said he already knew because my "figure changed." I guess I'm going to have to tell people earlier than I thought....

I seem to remember showing by around 20 weeks with #1 and 14-15 weeks with #2. I'm willing to bet by 12 weeks this time it'll be obvious. Those muscles just sag easier, lol. I have the misfortune of having just started a new job, I'm not even off training until the week after next, oh boy. I'd like to wait until 12 weeks but I don't know if I can hide it until then. I do wear scrubs at work though which are loose so hopefully I can pull it off. I have to change into street clothes at the end of my shift so I think some big tshirts are in order...

Bena - me too! For the past year my plan was to get myself back in shape before getting pregnant again. However, I had a stressful year of teaching last year (new department & teaching a course I wasn't comfortable in), which led to more weight gain and being in worse shape. I am feeling thankful that I'm taking a break from teaching this year. I was remembering this morning how a few of my students were afraid of asking me if I was pregnant with DS because they knew I loved my Chipotle and wasn't sure if it was a baby or just me gaining weight. Thanks guys. I'm now (or was last year) teaching SPED students and I'm pretty sure that verbal filter wouldn't be in place. Good luck!

Clumsy - I taught yoga at a high school when I was pregnant with DS (in the school's wrestling room, so you know it was hot!). Anyway, as unattractive as they are, I found t-shirts where my friend for hiding until I started to show. I had a benefit that I had a surplus of school t's from my athletic training job, and that the dress code of PE teachers allows tshirts, but it definitely helped get me through the awkward phase between looking fat and pregnant. Don't know what I'd do this year if I was going back.

AFM - I might need to retract my comment from the other day about not showing until 12-15 weeks. I'm feeling that my belly is slowly pooching out - but in a fat-looking way instead of a cute preggo way. My coworkers gave me a gift card to Sports Authority last year when I resigned my teaching position. I know if was because we joked that I was going to get back in shape and become a "hot SAHM". I wonder what they'd think if they know I'm using it for some comfy, belly-hiding, pre-maternity clothes. Hopefully I can find something that I can grow with :)

Oh yes, I have a belly from my first (who'd 2y0) and the waists of my snugger pants are not fitting already (i'll be 7 weeks Sunday).  I need to dig my belly bands out of the attic.  This is problematic because with my first pregnancy I didn't buy maternity clothes until winter.  I'm thinking some empire waist dresses might help me make it to cooler weather, but I'm not usually a dress person.  blah.

I'm tallish, but I'm very slender - so my 5 week bloat is making me look very oddly shaped!  I started looking pregnant, and not just like I'd gained weight, around 18w with my 1st.  My pants stopped fitting around 13-15 weeks though.

I'm also about 20lbs lighter now, and with my non-existent abs, I'm thinking I'll be having a hard time hiding this by 12 weeks.

I'm about ten weeks with my first. I don't know that I am technically showing, but my body has changed. I feel like I look rounder and fuller. I told a couple people I haven't seen in a long time the news the other day, and the response was "we can tell", so maybe it shows more than I think.

Plus size Momma here too. Gonna work it with lots of empire waists and belly rubbing : )

Thinking back, I didn't tell my family until 12 weeks for my second, so I must not have been obvious because they saw e right before being told without it being visibly obvious. I do remember baking cookies with my mom, and being a bit paranoid that she would be able to see so I had put on a loose fitting hoodie...this was probably around 10-12 weeks before I told them. I'm thinking I'll be able to hide until until about that time for this 3rd baby, but we'll find out!
