I think we're going to wait until about 21 weeks or so to do an ultrasound, though I'm feeling more and more like not having it and not knowing. I think hubby does want to know, but I asked I'm today and he didn't seem set on it necessarily anymore...we'll see how we feel in a month!

we will be finding out but we won't find out until September 21. It seems like that is so far away. I think that this is probably a girl my oldest dd insists that this is a boy. So who knows.

No idea here.  I was so sure with my son and never even looked.  But this one could be anything.  I am leaning toward girl but don't know if that is just cause I want to balance of energy in the house...  I think we'll find out toward the beginning of September.  14 weeks tomorrow!!

We're Team Green - we found out with my son, but my husband agreed to keep it surprise this time.  SO HARD!  It's what I want, but I also WANT TO KNOW!!!  In theory we could find out anytime, and our anatomy u/s is next week.  I'm thinking about having the u/s tech put a photo in a sealed envelope so that we have it for a baby book later on. :)

Sept 5th we should find out.  If the little one cooperates, of course.  another good appt, happiness all around today!

We're not finding out.

AAAAARRRGGGHHH!  We declined the anomaly scan (what they call the 18-21 week scan here) as we don't want to look for anomalies, but i was literally googling for prices on private gender scans last night!  I'm not paying £79 for someone to tell me what i can know for free in a few months but man, it's driving me nuts!  LOL!

This is our last baby.  We have 2 girls.  I don't care what this one is, i mean i'm not desperate for a boy, and in many ways another girl would be easier (i already have clothes and siblings it could roomshare with without any issues for example!), but i'm open to a boy and will just be happy whatever we get.  OH really isn't fussed to know and laughs at me and tells me to book a private scan when i'm going crazy.

I think the anterior placenta is causing this.  I'm 18+5 and still only feeling a little bit of movement, and it's a bit...lonely!?  That's the word that came to mind.  I feel like this baby is keeping itself to itself!  I'm sure a gender scan would make no difference, but in my head ANY information might increase that bond.

On the topic of chromosome problems...with DD2 i felt out of touch with her, was convinced she was a boy, could never decide if i thought she was "ok in there" or not (contrary to with DD1, with whom i had PIH but whom i always KNEW was fine), and i wondered a lot if there was something wrong.  Turned out she had a true knot in her cord and a marginal and velamentous cord insertion in her heart-shaped placenta, and i honestly feel like that knot was interfering with our communication when she was in utero.  She was born whole and hearty at home with apgars of 10 and 10, so the knot caused no issues, but i really felt she was a bit "marginal" the whole time, and in some ways she was!

Congrats on all the findings! (how did I miss this thread?) We haven't found out and don't intend to...but deep down I kind of want to know! I'm leaning towards this one being a girl, but I'm not sure if I just feel this way because my last three were boys.

My 4 yo, however, has told me repeatedly that this baby is a girl.

Interestingly enough, the presence of this baby has been SO STRONG-even before I got pregnant I could feel this one for the last year sort of  hanging around, if that makes much sense. :) I have gone back and forth between this being a sign of everything being just fine, and something being 'different'. I tend to be a big time worrier, but I'm just not worrying. I think it's my faith helping me out :)

Congrats everyone (looks like girls are dominating this month!)!!

We were supposed to be team green, but last night DH announced he "really, really wants to know". We found out our first two pregnancies, and this time I just wanted to leave it a surprise right to the end. DH was on board, until last night... orngtongue.gif

Our u/s is booked for Sept 4 (19w 2d), so we have a few days to try and convince each one way or the other.

I've been feeling this way too, and am wondering about an anterior placenta.  The kicks have been so slight even at 20 weeks compared to DD, who was like a tornado by now! (still is by the way energy.gif)  My midwife tried to listen with a fetascope yesterday (20wks 2 days), but still couldn't get anything, and thought she heard the placenta in my left front area. That would make the diminished kick feelings make more sense!  I asked her to use the doppler so that I could at least hear this little person's heart beating, and that did make me feel better.

We're going to do the private ultrasound on Saturday, mostly because DH really wants to know the gender.  I'm still on the fence about it, because I'll be happy either way!, but it's his baby too and he wanted so badly to find out with DD.  She would NOT cooperate with the scan though, hated it the whole time, and we didn't end up finding out until she was born that she was a girl.  I hope seeing the baby and knowing the gender will help us both feel a little more in tune with this pregnancy!

Eating my words and HAPPY to do so!  IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!  Shocked does not even describe my feelings.  We had the big u/s Thursday, and I haven't known what to do with myself since!  She looks absolutely perfect and healthy!  We watched her gulping the fluid and crossing her little legs at the ankles. Measuring right on, maybe a little on the big side.  Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
