Help me = charting when is my CD1???

I thought my period was a bit early

Which is the first day of my period?

(*i just put down equivalents not that I'd keep one tampon in all day ;)

day 1 spotted evening light watery pink

day 2 spotted minor pink not a panty liner

day 3 one tampon

day 4 one tampon

day 5 spotting

Is day 1 2 or 3 the first day of my next cycle?

Sounds like Day 3 would be CD1.

so spotting even when it "bleeds" no pun intended into the period isn't part of the period?

This is my second bleeding episode since my mc and looked as if it was close to my periods before - my cycles are short.

I just want to chart right and not think I am late if I don't include those two days etc....

I always understood that cycle day one was the first day of normal red flow.  By what you posted I would say day 3 matches that.  But that would be an extremely light period for me, so you have to tailor to what is normal for you.  If you routinely start with spotting like that, then you might want to count from day 1.  If you are unsure, I would say do calculations for both start days to make sure you cover possible ovulation. :)

Normally I have really typical periods.

About 5 days.

I had a small spotting bleed 4 1/2 weeks after the D&C, which I am sure was because I came off combined birth control and hadn't ovulated or built up a lining.  This cycle I do not understand at all, but will call it my first ppp.

my midwife said "irregular period"....which is good as I hate the emotional rollercoaster testing brings with it.  Guess my body has hit restart.  CD2 it is.
