We are also expecting baby #4.
My BIL's sister is having her 6th any day now so this isn't unheard of. When we announced we were expecting #2 it was "Oh" from them. #3, not sure. #4, definitely no reaction. It's so annoying. When they announced #2, my other SIL cried for 10 minutes. In public. She doesn't say anything about my babies.
My mom said "Well, it's your life, you have to deal with it."
My FIL said, "Don't you know how this happens? You can stop it by saying no."
And they KNOW we want a big family.
Most people say, "So I hear you're pregnant again."
Whatever happened to "Congratulations! Babies are a blessing!" Seriously?!
I was sort of dreading telling anyone even though *we* are thrilled because I knew I'd get all those types of comments, as well as people who just couldn't care less. Plus my three are very close in age (4.5, 3, and 1) so I already get the "You really have your hands full!" comments. Can't wait to see how much I hear when I'm obviously pregnant too, and once the baby comes.... I take all the kids grocery shopping every other Friday and I'm sure I will take all four once baby is 6 weeks old.
Seriously, um, people? No one's asking YOU to have a large family. And a baby being born first, fourth, or tenth doesn't make that person any less special. Just smile and say "Congratulations!" just like you would to a first or second-time mom....
