17 days overdue...Finally here! « Back to Group Discussions

Joaquin Thomas decided to finally join us after being 17 days "late." I finally scheduled an induction for the 26th, and the morning of the 25th I woke up with very strong contractions. Labor was very hard because Joaquin was slightly transverse. I had another hospital birth, and it sucked! My doctor wasn't on call, so I had a different doctor who was very uncomfortable with me being overdue. There was a lot of arguing. It made it difficult to have a natural birth, but I was pretty determined. My OB finally showed up, and everything was very smooth after that. The doctor was able to turn Joaquin while I started pushing (not fun!), and Joaquin came shooting out! He was 10 lbs 12 oz!! I'm enjoying the sleepy newborn phase, which we never had with my older daughter. Hopefully it lasts!

OMG 10 lb 12 oz!! Well done, Joaquin and Mama!! I am so impressed that you were determined enough to advocate for yourself while you were in labor, and that everything came out so well. Congratulations!

Congratulations mama! What a healthy baby! Im glad your OB showed up and you didn't have to deal with that other dr (read: jerk) anymore. Enjoy your baby moon and welcome to the world little Joaquin!
