Welcome to the April 2013 Due Date Club! (Roster & Intros!) - Page 8

Hi, I'm Ann....maybe one of the oldest here at 43 blush.gif   but haven't looked through all of the PP yet!

EDD is around April 9 based on my LMP....but my cycles have been a little wacky so I'll go with early April.

We live near Louisville, KY, weren't trying or preventing so this is only somewhat of a surprise.

We have two home with us: DS (12) and DD (3)

DH thinks baby is a boy!   DD wants a sister!

I'm going to get confirmation with my regular OB soon, and then will decide on a midwife as we want to do a HB this time.

DS and DD were born in the hospital -- DD was totally natural - I didn't even have an IV (thanks to an agreement with my awesome OB)!

I have to admit I'm nervous about everything because of my age but trust that if this LO is meant to be with us, he/she will!  praying.gif

Welcome everyone!

Due: Sometime Mid-April, will know more after tomorrow! 9 weeks along now.

Name: Sarah

Age: 32 (just turned on the 7th)

Live in Maine!

We got married on the July 7th, and began trying immediately. I took my last pill that day, actually. I got my BFP on August 11! (and checked again the next day, and in a Dr. office later that week;))

This will be my first child, and my husband's second. He has an 11 y.o. who is just thrilled to become a big sister after being an only child. She kisses my belly hello and goodbye (even though there isn't one yet!)

Not sure on gender, yet, but we will be finding out, I guess in November or December, when we can!

Giving birth in a hospital with a team of midwives on staff. I have been seeing the same midwife for my well-woman care for 2 years and am just hoping she's on call when I go into labor. Of course I'm planning to do my best to get to know the other midwives, too.

I'm a teacher and a jewelry artist. My business is called Sojourn Curiosities. I'm hoping to pursue my jewelry work full-time for the 1st year at home with the baby, but we'll see how it goes.

I have my first "real" appointment and ultrasound tomorrow, and am very excited/nervous! Husband will be with me, so that helps.

How long it took to you to get your BFP: it took us 6.5 years! We spent the first 3 years actively ttc and 2 of those years in back to back infertility treatments (clomid, injectable & IUI AND IVF!) all of which failed. Ive had 2 very early m/s (both before 6 weeks) we gave up and started the adoption process 3 years ago and have been waiting ever since (we've had two failed placements over the years) so this was a HUGE WONDERFUL surprise smile.gif
What number child is this for you: 1st
Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): my husband Andrew and our fur babies are Sydney a lass apso, Charlie a Maltese & Cookie a sable marten house bunny smile.gif
Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): either would be wonderful, but I have felt it was a boy since the day I found out,
Birth Plans/Preferences: home birth But I have to find a midwife first. I'm currently with a big doc practice and I don't like how impersonal it is...
Blog, website or the like:
Anything else you'd like to share: we had our first US on 8/22 and I was 8wks2days, with a perfect little bean with a good heartbeat! our next appt is on sept. 19th. Hopefully they can pick up the heart beat with the Doppler.

Just found out we had another m/c.  Please remove me from the ddc.  Thanks!

Hi all!

I was expecting early this year but lost that baby (no heartbeat at 10 weeks). That was my second miscarriage. My partner and I thought we were being a bit more careful, but surprise! I'm due April 3rd according to LMP, but had an ultrasound on Monday that said I'm due March 28th. So, by the ultrasound I'm 12 weeks, 5 days along now. I'm not sure which to go by. I might be ovulating a little earlier these days.

EDD: 4/21/2013

Your Name: I go by Rainey everywhere online except FB, so that works.

Age: 36

State or Country: Texas

How long it took to you to get your BFP: Total surprise baby after we had decided not to have any more bio children, but hadn't made things permanent. Condoms don't always work perfectly, folks!! But we are cautiously excited for this baby...and hoping it will be a "take home" baby!!

What number child is this for you: #2 (or #5, counting my losses).

Family: My computer geek DH, my construction equipment obsessed DS who turned three in July, and my cat named Ami (but we are trying to find her a good new home, since she isn't very baby-friendly and has only gotten meaner since DS was little).

Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): Kinda hoping for a girl this time around. DS is also rather adamant that the baby is a baby sister for him and won't even entertain the idea that it might be a brother!! So, fingers crossed he gets his wish!! Truthfully, though...just a healthy "take home" baby is great by me!!

Birth Plans/Preferences: After having to transport from a home birth because of complications with DS, an eclamptic seizure when DS was six days old, the three miscarriages last year, and a trip to the ER from hemorrhaging after the last miscarriage (where I almost died and had to have blood transfusions and an emergency D&C)...we are having a bit more interventions this go around!! I still consider myself a semi-crunchy mama, but I don't wanna take chances...so we had our first appointment at six weeks/one day and saw the baby/heard the heartbeat on a high tech ultrasound that day. We also found out that I have an ovarian cyst on my left ovary and they are keeping an eye on it. Had a old-school grainy ultrasound at the midwives office at seven weeks/three days and then another high tech ultrasound at eight weeks/one day. During all of that I was being seen by the midwife group that handled my last miscarriage but they referred me to a doctor in their group and I had my first appointment with him this past Friday. He will care for me until we get far enough along to see if the ovarian cyst needs to be dealt with in pregnancy and he will be able to do the operation at around 20 weeks if needed. The cyst is small (less than 2cm) and he says he has taken out fist sized cysts during a pregnancy before, so that is reassuring. Then, once the cyst is no longer an issue (whether through surgery, lack of growth, or even shrinkage...which it has shrunk already) then if I want I can transfer care back to the midwives in the group. The other concern is if I develop preeclampsia again...which would mean needing to take the baby a little early (which I would rather avoid). However, he really seems to understand the need to balance the mother's health with the baby's health and will do whatever is possible to let the baby keep growing as long as I am not in grave danger. I am at ten weeks/one day today and will have another ultrasound next Monday and then will see the doctor again a week from this Friday. He is gonna see me every two weeks (even though at this point the norm is every four) just because of my history and for my peace of mind. I will be delivering in the most baby-friendly hospital in the area though..where babies always room in with parents, breast feeding is encouraged as the best choice, and where they have birthing tubs available should a mother want to labor or birth in water. So for us it really is our best choice.

Blog: My blog can be found at http://raineydaye.blogspot.com but I am absolutely the worst at keeping it up!!

Hello all! I've been stalking for a few weeks, but wanted to make sure this one stuck around before I came out of hiding.

  • EDD: April 8
  • Your Name: Kelly
  • Age: 35
  • State or Country: Vermont
  • What number child is this for you: first!
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): partner and three hairball beastcats
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): as long as the babe's healthy, i'll take it!
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: hospital, unfortunately, as I'm at the mercy of my health insurance. I'm hoping for minimal intervention, and that one of the midwives is on call when I'm ready!

I just had my 12 week appointment today--got to hear the babe's "very healthy" (according to OB) heartbeat and a little kick!

Hi there

Also been stalking a bit. We just had our first U/S and heard the heartbeat so I'd thought I'd join. I was in a July 2010 DDC when pregnant with my son and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately I don't think I'll have as much time (or energy) to post this time- being pregnant with a toddler is way harder than I could have ever expected!

  • EDD: April 20
  • Age: 32
  • State or Country: We're Canadian but live in the Middle East (Abu Dhabi)
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: we were shooting for a 3+ yr age gap with my son- but we decided to start trying early since it took a few tries the last time. well, it only took once! Eeeeeeeeek. A bit of a shock.
  • What number child is this for you: second!
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): amazing and brilliant husband and a challenging and wonderful son who just turned two in July
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): we REALLY want a girl, but I keep thinking it's another boy...
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: we'll be having the baby in a hospital (homebirth is illegal here) but we hope to do it all naturally and on our own terms like we did the first time!

Hi ladies! I had a miscarriage in May and then became really sick when this pregnancy started so I forgot to join a due date club until now.

  • EDD: April 4, but my last two babies have come at 42 +2 and 42 + 3, so I'm expecting this one to come around the middle of April
  • Your Name: Lisa
  • Age: 25
  • State or Country: Ohio
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: We have been incredibly blessed fertility-wise and have gotten pregnant all 5 times within 2 months of saying the word "baby" or being lazy with preventative measures :)

  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Married to my high school sweetheart, 7 year old boy, 4 year old girl, and 23 month old boy
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): I don't know. I've never intuitively known. I'd like a girl, just because I have a list of a billion girl names and not a single boy name
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: Third planned home birth with a midwife. This will be my first time in water, or at least having access to a birth tub.
  • Blog, website or the like: www.gorskis.blogspot.com , horribly neglected
