Welcome to the April 2013 Due Date Club! (Roster & Intros!) - Page 3

Hello!  I can't believe I'm back on a DDC!  I am due April 14 (by ovulation, or 16 by LMP), but I go at least a week late.  This will be #6 for us (pg 8 times).  We have 4 girls (13, 11, 9, 4) and 1 boy (2).  I'm 33 and we live in BC Canada.  Our BFP was a bit of a surprise as we have been using NFP for many many years including actively avoiding but we had an odd month and I O'd 4 days early!  Dh and I are always open to life though as IMO it is apart of choosing a natural method (who are we kidding, nothing is foolproof!).  We are totally thrilled and excited and praying this will be a happy healthy pg and beyond.  Dh and I have been married 15 years next month.  I have no preference for boy or girl but we have always found out so will do the same this time if baby cooperates!

I have had (in order) 1 hospital birth (posterior, epi), 1 hospital birth w/midwife (natural, severe hemmorhage & meconium), and 3 home births with a midwife (#3 severe hemmorhage, #4 and #5 posterior).  After 5 births and so many complications we are planning a hospital birth with midwife this time.  I am sad to not be home but dh and I feel it is the best choice given our circumstances. I plan to seek chiropractic care since 3 of 5 kids have come posterior and it is soooo much more painful!

EDD: April 16, but both of my boys were a few weeks 'early'
Age: early thirties
State or Country: Michigan
How long it took to you to get your BFP: First try after return of PP AF... circumstances similar to a loss after weaning DS1, though I'm making an effort to embrace and accept whatever will come in the next few months. I'm certain that I'm pregnant, but as of 6W I haven't yet POAS. I've been lurking here for a while though so I thought it was time I show myself!
What number child is this for you: 3
Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): DS who splits his time traveling and WAH, me a SAHM and active volunteer, DS1 who is wise beyond his five years and who I've begun to suspect has some SPD-like tendencies (which, I think I share, by the way), DS2 who will be two in October and is as sweet a boy as ever has been (except at night time), a little dog and a little fish.
Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): I can never bring myself to answer this question!
Birth Plans/Preferences: Hoping for a third birth center birth with few interventions, assisted by DH, a midwife and a doula.

AmBam- can I just say how nice it is to be in a DDC with you again? Hoping and praying that your pregnancy is a healthy, boring one! :-)

I hope I'm doing this right as I've never posted on mothering before, only lurked, but now that I'm actually pregnant I guess I can feel less creepy/stalkerish :)

  • EDD: April 18 (but the 22nd is Earth Day and my sister's b-day which would be awesome)
  • Your Name: Shana
  • Age: 27
  • State or Country: Michigan
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: 2 months, I've always had short luteal phases (8 days) so this month I tried taking B6 to lengthen it and apparently it worked :)

Hi mamas! I made a whole new FB profile to be able to join this DDC bc I was locked out (forgot my password) and now somehow, I was able to access my original account on my iPad finally!
So, here I am, Viviene aka OrchideZ.
Happy to be here...6 weeks today.

All the answers I gave on my newer Violetdevendra profile I will copy over. Hate to confuse those with "momnesia" even more.

I guess I will ask a mod to delete the other profile but I never even got a reply to my help form I filled out or multiple requests for my password to be emailed to me. Weird. dizzy.gif
Oh well...I'm here now.

Now I am back in my old and comfy profile! How are you feeling Robina? Have you seen/heard heartbeat yet? I am feeling cautious until I do bc of the early loss beginning of July.
Have my appt. next Friday.

  • EDD: sometime around April 9
  • Your Name: (if you would like to share) Viviene

  • Age: 41
  • State or Country: California
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: I am still in disbelief! I was pregnant (conceived in May, was in the Feb 13 DDC) then lost that pregnancy on July 3. I went to see my OB a week later and she said I could try again whenever I felt up to it. We only DTD once (but I could tell I ovulated a day or so later) and I POAS two days ago, got a positive! So I guess it didn't take long at all.
  • What number child is this for you: 3
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Husband and two little ones (Jasper is almost 4, Tallulah is 2). We have two elderly cats. One is almost 24 years old!
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): According to Shettles method, I am guessing girl but we would be open to either.
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: This will be VBAC #2 and it will be in a hospital. Our preferences much like with VBAC #1 will be for minimal interventions, privacy.

Hi, all!

  • EDD : early April (7 weeks today)
  • Your name: Ami
  • Age: 30
  • State or Country: upstate NY
  • How long it took to you to get your BFP: We stopped *not* trying when we got married in late April.
  • What number child is this for you:  Our first!
  • Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies):  My husband David, who is 46 & definitely ready to be a dad, and our two cats, Bean & Zelda
  • Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): We're both hoping for a girl...
  • Birth Plans/Preferences: Still trying to figure out our options...interested in homebirth, but there's only one midwife locally and her house (for prenatal appts) is hard to reach in winter and the hilly roads made me really sick to drive to.....there's a pretty progressive-sounding hospital about an hour away we're also looking at.
  • Anything else you'd like to share: Nice to be here! Hi, all!

Hello Ladies!

Congratulations!

A little about me:

EDD: I am joining  today at 5 weeks- I've known I was pregnant since day 26 of my cycle, and am expecting this pregnancy to go into mid April.

# of Children: This is my third pregnancy in the last 8 months. The first two ended early- the first at 6 weeks, the second at almost 10 weeks. I was sad to drop out of the December DDC, but and very excited to belong to this one! This will be our first child.

Age: 27

Location: Nebraska

Family: I've been married to my husband now for a little over a year. In addition to bringing order and good cooking into his life, I also brought with me 2 dogs (6yr old Lab, 4yr old Great Dane) 2 cats (both 4yrs old) and an assortment of tropical fish. He is a lucky man! ;)

How long it took to get pregnant: So far, I've gotten pregnant every time we've tried, on the first cycle. Apparently getting pregnant isnt the issue; its STAYING pregnant!

Birth Plans: from what I understand, NE is one of only 3 states that does not recongize CPMs, and only allows CNMs to deliver in the hospital. So, as of right now, we are going to deliver with an FP in the hospital, with the hope of bringing homebirth to the hospital! :)

Anything else: I've been a type one diabetic since I was 9, so this pregnancy will present its own set of challenges if we are able to make it full term. I have an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor on to help me keep my blood sugar below 100. I've sworn off all refined sugar and flour to help ward off any concerns about my baby being a giant. ;)
