Ever since DD's birth I've had a little trouble with leaking urine when I sneeze. For various reasons I ended up with an unplanned but definitely necessary episiotomy, and things have never been quite the same down there. (sorry to break it to all you first time moms! You have a lot to look forward to ) Before this pregnancy it was really controllable, I mean I only leaked if I had a full bladder, and I could prevent it if I anticipated the sneeze and took extra care to hold in the pee. Lately it's been completely uncontrollable and happens even RIGHT AFTER I've gone potty. I'm getting over a bad cold right now and have had a lot of coughing, and have had to wear pads to catch the leaks every time I cough.
I know I should be doing kegels more, but I just can't remember to do them! I got a kegel ball to try, but it arrived the day I found out I was pregnant, and had a warning about not using it during pregnancy . However, my doctor doesn't think it should be a problem at all if I keep it clean, and from what I could find out online the only reason it has that warning is because of the risk of infection during pregnancy. But I've still been a little hesitant to use it YET because I'm a little worried about it being a little irritating in my vagina and causing some spotting - which wouldn't be a problem in itself, but would make me worry unnecessarily.
Has anyone else found good ways to remind yourself to do kegels? And is anyone else leaking urine already? I had a lot of leaking late in third trimester with DD, but don't remember this 1st tri problem at all. I'm afraid that by the time this baby comes I'm going to be in full diapers myself!
