Hey there,

I have been under terrible stress, which has resulted in tension headaches (from tense neck & upper back).

you would think I would remember/know this, but is Ibuprofen ok?

A massage/chiro/accupuncture appointment would be much preferable, but for all sorts of reasons is not possible right now.

no, I remember last year a piece on NBC nightly news that ibuprofen in the first tri was a big MC risk, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44393864/ns/health-pregnancy/t/miscarriage-risk-doubles-use-anti-inflammatory-drugs/

I haven't done much research on it, but the little bit I've read said tylenol was preferred over ibuprofen for pregnancy. maybe you could look into and take a small dose if needed.

The info I just got from my MW suggests that ibuprofen in small doses in first & second tri is fine but carries a risk of poor fetal heart development in third tri.  It was totally on the no-no list for my last pregnancy though.

I would try to go with a warm bath, stretching, relaxation, and a bit of tylenol.  Maybe a yoga class?

I know that this is an older thread, but just for the record, the Motherisk site from Toronto's sick children hospital is pretty throughough and authoritive (researched based) on what is ok and not during pregnancy!
