VBAC with midwife.

We are looking to go the hospital route with a midwife/doula. Basically a "home birth" at the hospital if that makes any sense. I'm not sure how confident I am that I will have a successful VBAC so that is why I am looking at going to a hospital.

We live in Mandeville, LA but are willing to travel in to New Orleans or to the greater Baton Rouge area.

I am open to any and all suggestions! We are still contemplating home birth :)

I'm not currently pregnant but we would like to be by the end of the year.

If you are willing to travel to New Orleans I have heard great things about Touro Infirmary. There are some very supportive hospital midwives who deliver there, as well as many natural birth supportive OBs. Some names that come to mind include Dr. Jennifer Lapeyrolerie and Dr. VonOlmen. I believe that the midwives even do hospital waterbirths.  And VBAC is allowed at Touro.

There are also many fantastic homebirth midwives in the area. I would hook up with ICAN of Baton Rouge or New Orleans for support and referrals. You should also check out the Southeast Louisiana Birth Network

I am a doula in the New Orleans area. If you need anything in the future feel free to call me anytime at 251-300-5778 or 251-214-2919
