Not pregnant yet, wanting a VBA2C for 3rd child

I have had 2 previous c-sections, the first was "emergency" due to failure to progress and fetal distress during induction for gestational diabetes and the second I was talked into after being discouraged about not going into labor naturally by 41 weeks. My husband and I are talking about trying for another when he comes home from deployment this winter and I really want to avoid another surgical birth. I'm looking for some support and encouragement so I can build my confidence back up before getting pregnant again so I can give myself the best chance at natural birth.

MY good friend just had her second HBA3C, and she has both a horizontal and a vertical scar.  Its totally possible.  I admit, I thought she was taking a big risk when I heard her plans the first time.  Now that I'm looking at my first VBAC in december, I am amazed by how impractical it is to give birth in some places!  And how strong your odds are for success if you ahve the right support system.  You can do it!  Have you found your local ICAN group yet?  Mine was very helpful (my friend found her  group, in another state, to be less so, so its not a "ohh perfect" thing for everyone, I just really appreciated the opportunity to talk about my experience with people who didn't judge or try to tell me what to do.  They had advice and ideas, but for me it was theraputically supportive).
