I mean I -can't-. It's $135 worth of carrier! I also can't sell it because a/ I don't want to risk someone using it broken, and b/ my conscience would kill me. And I don't really need two... gah! I'm so torn. I -think- I might offer it up for our local group for borrowing, with the caveat that it doesn't go to anyone with a newborn. I don't know... what would you guys do?  I mean I guess I could keep it, and just put it in the car or something so I know I always have one. I don't know. At any rate, I have to wait until I get the new one, and see if there's different instructions in there. I'm surprised they don't want me to send it back.

If you really don't need to send it back, I'll send you the money to ship it to me. I need a carrier like that and don't want to shell out the big bucks! I'll get someone here locally to fix it.

I'd be worried about safety, too, if it involves ripping out the stitching. I don't think I'd be comfortable gifting it to a lending library, either, if fixing it is a safety issue. What is the purpose of the snap?

JJ - Yeah where is the snap??  I would either keep it as a spare, or lend it out to someone I knew, explaining what the problem was.  I know, I wouldn't just be able to toss it either!!

Lauri - sounds good to me!  We won't pay for the full admission to williamsburg either -- I think we want to do the pass where you can get in to some things but not all.  I know mine won't stand for tours, it will be too much!

They have a great toy shop IIRC and I'm eager to poke around in there!

Mostly though, yes -- I'm looking fwd to hanging out with you all in the hotel!!  EEeek only a few weeks!

MW - i couldn't get a hold of DH today but I will send the $$ tmw!

AFUs- Nora was upset tonight, crying and asking when her daddy will be back.  This was the first time she ever did that, and I honestly didn't know what to do.  I told her how many days til he came back, and told her what we will do until then, but she was very upset and teary.  She's never been like this before.  I reminded her that he's working hard and will be home soon.  MW, do your boys express how much they miss their dad when he is gone?  What sorts of things do you say if so?  I admit I was at a loss...

The boys do sometimes get very sad when there dad is away. I mostly just hold them and commiserate. I tell them that I miss him, too, but he will be home eventually.

I need to get on the ball about getting tickets for Williamsburg. Make sure you bring bathing suits because there is an indoor pool.

Annie ~ Do you think we'll need long pants and jackets?
It's been a little chilly late night/early morning but I think you'd be ok with just a jacket if you had on shorts. So maybe just bring a fleece? Daytime is still hot. And Williamsburg is usually a little warmer than C'ville. I need to look in the stores to see if anyone is still selling a baby float. Or maybe just borrow from a friend. Seems like a waste to just buy one for the weekend. She won't need it next summer.

ok, that's what my mom said, too. i'll probably pack one pair of pants for each boy, then.

i got a float from TRU that i expect dylan to use next summer, too. we haven't even used it this year yet. i'm thinking that i only have the one baby float. everything else i have starts at 2 years. i'll check, tho, and let you know if i find anything.
One of my friends here has a pool and I'm pretty sure she has a float for Val that I could probably borrow. Right now, I'm so freaking ready for a vacation, I don't even care if I see any part of Williamsburg. I just want a few days away!
I will be with you in spirit!

Boba, send to Annie. If the snap is only to make it useful for a newborn, I wouldn't worry about fixing it either.

Car shopping is so much fun! Not!

Ahh. I'm so jealous of you guys. Take tons of pictures and tell us all about the weekend. When is it again?

Yeah, the snap is on the waistband- it serves to snap the carrier down so it can be used for infants. In regular use from 15lbs up, it does nothing. It's just for infants that it's affected. I'll let you guys know what happens after the new one gets here. It's supposed to be here on the 28th or sooner. If they don't need it back, I'm going to give my SIL a crack at it first, but then I can send it to you Annie :)  I'm pretty sure she won't keep it. She's always complaining about how her son won't let her put him down, so she gets nothing done. I've suggested carriers, but she only has and has only tried, a baby bjorn, and then she tried a hotsling when he was like 2 months old. So maybe if she tries the Boba, she'll realize the difference? He's 15 months, and tall and lanky, so he's probably perfect age/size for it. But, like I said. I think she'll try it, and then say it won't work.

Bought new sheets today. They're puuuurrrddy. Purple :)  We also FINALLY refinished the nightstands we bought like 6 months ago. I feel like we finally have an almost adult bedroom. lol. I need to switch out the bedskirt, and buy a few throw pillows and I htink we're going to try to make a headboard too. Only took me 5 years to get adult furniture. haha

I thought I came up with a good idea for Ten's party, but then the actual follow through I think is going to be too hard. I saw a picture of a really gorgeous 'safari' theme- but it wasn't typical colors, it was all pastels in blues and light greens, etc. I wanted to do either that, or pastel pinks and purples. So the balloons, streamers, plates, napkins, etc would be really easy, but I have a feeling it'll be a pain the but to find actual pastel animal anything, other than the stuff I can print easily at home. We're still thinking on it. I was at the party stuff store today and also saw a ton of damask print, so maybe we'll just to pink and damask. Her crib sheet is damask, and I love it, so maybe. And then it won't really have a theme other than 'pink'. Hmmm

Sounds good to me!

So jealous about your grownup bedroom! I'm still waiting for a grownup bedroom! Maybe in a couple of years.

Kat ~ Are you absolutely sure you can't come? We still have room.

If you are sure, I was thinking of asking my mom since she's so close and it is her timeshare. That is, if it's okay with the rest of you, Carrie and Annie. You can be honest if you'll feel awkward or just really want it to be us.

Sean and Dylan are asleep in bed. Kellen is asleep next to me on the couch and Ethan is awake. He slept most of the afternoon and evening and woke up around 9:30. He has the fever and illness that's been going around the house.

Sean has an extra day off from work tomorrow. I don't know if we'll do anything. I'd like to go to the beach but it's been raining so much. Plus, with Ethan sick and the fact that he doesn't like the beach, it's probably not a good idea.

I'm tired so I'm off to bed. I probably won't get to sleep before Dylan wakes up again but that's ok. He slept for 4 hours his first stretch last night, which was nice. I guess he's moving toward sleeping through the night because he seems to do a 4 hour stretch when nothing's going on with him like teething or being sick.

Ok, good night.

Inviting your mom is fine with me!  Any extra grown up hands to help with the kids is welcome in my book!

Poor Ethan!  Feel better dude!

This week has lasted forever.  Chris should be home tonight around 10.  I'm hoping I get everyone in bed asleep by then!!

I'm so sick and tired of AF this time, and it's only day 4. Ugh.  Over it!!

I pinched something in my back.  I have no idea how or when, but this morning when I woke up I can barely move.  It hurts!  I took some ibuprofen.  I wish DH weren't so adamantly opposed to chiro!  I feel like an adjustment would help but there's no way I could just sneak behind his back and go.

Not much new here to report!  I need to finish my coffee, take out the trash, clean the litter box, vacuum, and go get the clothes from the dryer.  I better get started!

I figured it out.  This week I've been carrying Finn a lot in one arm, my left arm, instead of using the boba.  I know a few times my bicep cramped up and was sore.  I must have wrenched that side of my back too.  Geez!  Now I know!

That happens to me sometimes, Carrie. I do go to the chiropractor if it gets really bad. Otherwise, I stretch, stretch, stretch.

Annie mentioned on FB that she would have all the kids the weekend that we will be in Williamsburg so I won't invite my mother and reserve the extra room for them.

I told Rob that yesterday! I can wear Ten on my back for 2 hours and be fine. But walking around and bouncing with her in my arms for 20 minutes, and I end up sore. People would never believe it though. lol

I am sure. We really wish we could swIng it, but with birthday stuff, car stuff, and all that, it just wont happen greensad.gif

Down in charleston for the day! Fun. And the weather is amazing smile.gif

MW, my big kids can only stay until prob Noon on Sunday so if your mom wants to come for the rest of the time, I can wash the sheets in that extra room and remake the bed.
Doing separate posts because my nook doesn't create diff paragraphs. We've made it through whatever sleep issues we were going through. I know I'll only get a few days' break but it's ok. It's just nice to be back to a couple of wakeups for milk and then sleeping until 7 or 8. Looking back, she was going through a growth spurt AND getting molars. Geez. But we're past it for now!

Thank goodness, Annie. It's so rough while going through it. We're doing better, too, since D isn't sick anymore. And after about a week of going sans diaper unless absolutely necessary, his rash is almost completely cleared up.

dh finally got a twin bed frame last night and set up the twin next to our king. i think he decided that was better than being isolated to a separate room. He said he slept a lot better last night. Ethan refused to sleep on the twin even though it is right next to our mattress and the same height until I laid with him on it until he fell asleep. So, I was squished between him and Dylan on the twin while DH and Kellen were spread out on the king. lol.gif Once Ethan was asleep I scooted over to the king but left Dylan on the twin with Ethan. He slept for 4-5 hours. joy.gif

DH gave me a card last night that said, "I miss spooing with you, and forking, too." He wrote underneath, "It might cure some of my grumpiness." That pissed me off. I asked him if he was implying that his grumpiness and lack of sex was my responsibility. Of course, he denied that. That's a perfect example of his awkward attempts. Why can't he just sit next to me on the couch and put his arm around me, kiss my neck, rub my back, something like that? Then I told him that, oh, by the way, I'm not the one who falls asleep. So, he fell asleep again last night. eyesroll.gif Not my problem, dude. If you want to get something going, then do it. Otherwise, quit pissing on me about it.

Well it was nice while it lasted. DD woke from her first nap ar 12:30. She dozed in the car from 4:30-5 PM. Fought going down at 7:30, her typical bedtime. Finally got her to sleep at 9:30. She tossed and turned and fretted until she threw up all over the bed around 11:30. Just convinced her back to sleep and I can already see her tossing and turning on the monitor while I pump. Oh and I can hear DH snoring THROUGH THE WALL. His ass is getting kicked out as soon as I'm done pumping. I can't put up with that tonight to. Frick on a stick!
