Northern or Southern hemisphere,
Deity or not,
whatever you celebrate today,
big or small,
may it be joyous and soul filing!

I can't beleive it's August already! blush.gif

And I can't beleive one can find Halloween candies and Christmas decorations in some stores!!!!  No wonder we always feel behind, pushed around and not in-the-moment! It's hard enough to see the Back-to-school stuff all around while I try to enjoy the NOW...

I haven't found a Lammas menu that please me... Too many tweaking, too many hoops to jump... I'll celebrate with my heart, my intention and some offering and let go of the feast part.

My goodness my summer is slipping away.  I have just a few weeks before classes and fall baseball starts again.  Enjoying my evenings off while I can.  joy.gif

I know! Thanks for starting the thread, Valerie!

I haven't seen Winter Holiday things yet, but school stuff, yeah. DS's school starts August 15th bigeyes.gif I was so hoping he'd be starting 6th grade in MA greensad.gif And if he was, he'd still have most of another month left, instead of this assinine summer garbage. Starting school in August-- WTF are these people thinking??

I'm not making anything special for today-- I made chicken legs before I realized I could go out and get ingredients for the zucchini pie I want to make. I went out and got the ingredients, so now I am in a cooking frenzy! LOL! Not going to eat any of it today, but fun to be a whirlwind in the kitchen, some days.

Happy Lammas, everyone!

Good gracious-- fall baseball. Sheesh, already?

Mamas!  Hello!  **so glad to turn the page to August!!!**

Happy Lammas!!  Set up an altar with Z this morning.  She's diggin' it, I think.  I mentioned it early this morning when we were waking up and talking about our day and by 8:15 we were setting it up.  I'm excited to watch it evolve.

I think for our dinner we're having big arse salads.  Like we have every night this week. haha.  My DH bought this "club pack" of spring mix this weekend...not realizing just how much was in one.  He wanted to "eat healthy" before we were off on our beach vacation next week.  I totally appreciate this sentiment but holy moly pangolin, I am one cleaned out mama! LOL!  So tonight, more salad!

Are you still in MA Maia?  How was your trip to Boston, Indigo?

Valerie, I love what you said about "no wonder wer're not in the moment" and commercialism!  I never thought about that and I totally appreciate that sentiment!!

Big, happy August hugs to all!!

In our area, baseball is serious business... there are only a few weeks off here and there between the various seasons besides the winter, because I am in New England with a real winter.  There are kids that play fall ball that don't play traditional spring ball because of conflicts.  And fall ball is only one weekends (well the games) so I have much more free time then the rest of the year.  LOL  Come late October, I won't have to deal with baseball besides board of directors stuff (unless I don't get voted back in and I don't see why I wouldn't be) until Spring.

Boston trip isn't until the weekend surrounding the Red Sox game on the 24th.  I have a trip to Six Flags New England and a family picnic hosted at my house (because we have one of the bigger yards and a bathroom that doesn't troop everyone through someone's whole house) before the trip.  Fun fun.

Well I like the water park at Six Flags, I usually camp out on a lounge chair and read when I am not splashing around so that won't be the trial the family picnic could potentially be.

There is a 50/50 crap shoot that it will run smoothly or just as likely that there will be a "family incident."  DH's family.  Besides my brother and my folks, most of my family lives 8 - 12 hours away...  not being related to every third person in the next town is wonderful.

I got back to NC yesterday. Had a ton of laundry to do-- it didn't all smell like ashtray like it usually does, but I washed it all anyway. Today, I had a ton of errands to do-- including mailing Caregiver's cell phone and charger back to her, cause she decided to charge it while her ride was pending and then promptly forgot it!

I am on a cooking rampage today. I get that way sometimes winky.gif I  had chicken legs, then green beans amandine (omg, the lemon! Nom!), then I sauteed the kale that was going bad, with the mushrooms that Caregiver left here-- I don't know what they ate, but ALL of the fresh veggies I left for them ended up nearly going bad-- so I took them and made a sort of crustless quiche, both to use up veggies, and to honor the day orngbiggrin.gif and omg, it's done and I can smell it, and it smells divine,  and I am not hungry. Dang.

Good idea to wash all your clothes after you've been on a plane.  My friend brought bed bugs into her house through her suitcase after traveling!  She was pretty sure they jumped from one suitcase to another on the plane which I guess can happen.  We have a crazy epidemic here.  greensad.gif

WOW!  13!!  What did you guys do??  and... birthday.gif

13 years ago yesterday my DH and I started hanging out...or dating...but more like going to see music and other shows together and spending lots of time "letting whatever happens happen" so whatever you call that... haha.  It's a special day for us, regardless.  A good time to look back and see how our relationship has evolved.

Where are you going again?

Now that's a thought, about bedbugs-- EW. I had never thought of that!

Mary3-- happy birthday to your oldest, and happy BIRTH day to you! How time flies, eh?

My hubby takes the day off work for each child's bday -- and they get to have loads of time with him and help 'drive' the day. We spent the day at a local history park (13yo's choice) and took him for lunch at Olive Garden. Going there is a once or twice a year treat as it is more expensive than the local Mexican restaurant. whistling.gif

I made him a cake plus he got to just hang out at home and relax. It was a good day. love.gif

Yes. Yes it does.

I totally agree with the idea that with parenting:

The days are LONG but the years are incredibly short.

Let's see:

1. Homeschooling my son this school year until we take the public school to court. (We'll be using Calvert curriculum.)  This is intense.

2. My son is having another full evaluation by his neuropsych.  This means many overnight stays out of state (in RI where his doc is located.)  This is stressful.

3. My friend is moving to a house right behind me.  This is fabulous.

4. My rent is up so I really want to move...but don't know if landlord will allow me to rent month to month.  This is not fabulous.

5. I have something wrong with my eye/(s) but won't know what it is until the 9th.  Yeah, this blows.

6. My son's health has been pretty good since he's been out of public school.  This is awesome!

7. I started selling Pampered Chef again.  This is good.

8. I'm still selling Usborne (in my sig).  This is also good. As a matter of fact, I have a show set up on my site right now.  Gotta remember to tell people about it.

9. I'm craving pickles and onions.  This is just plain weird.

10. I lost weight.  I gained weight.  I lost a bunch of weight.  I gained it back.  This is yoyo.

I'm trying to find ways to incorporate more "rituals" and "intention" into my daily life...

Since I'm forgetful and only think of putting my crystals/rocks on the windowsill "after" the Full Moon, I've decided they will live there from now! whistling.gif

Bed bugs.  Ugh.  I am thinking of ditching my suitcases and just having duffle bags that I can throw in the dryer after a trip so I can be sure they are not coming home with me.

Dok - will be thinking of you tomorrow.  Do you suppose your body might be craving probiotics, like in natural sauerkraut, with the pickle and sour craving?  I've been experimenting with natural lactofermented pickles and I can. not. stop eating them.

Happy birthday to your oldest, Mary!

Hi, Iansmomaya!

Ugh. I finally had titers drawn for ds to see if he is immune to chicken pox, and dang, mamas, he is not!!! He's been exposed, and I mean REALLY exposed, FIVE TIMES! Nada. I need him to get them really soon. He's 11-1/2.

I have decided to finally get him vaxed, since he's older now, and I thought he'd be immune, and I really don't want him to go through the rigamarole of pox vax all his dang life. GRRR.

No word on the showing, yet. We had one yesterday. It was a last minute thing; the showing service called me pretty late the night before. DS and I had to jam on straightening up. Thankfully we both had somewhere to be, during it, so didn't have to scramble finding somewhere to hang out. Cross fingers it's finally the one!

Aside from that, school starts on Wednesday. Already. If we get to move, I don't know if I will pull him out or let him keep going while I pack stuff. That would be easier, I think. Oh, I am getting ahead of myself! Dreaming? Hopefully not!

Eyes: Borderline glaucoma. Retest in one year.

Pickle craving: Probably!  Hmm, think I'll have some pickles right now.

They weren't interested. Didn't like the location or the layout of the house mecry.gif
