article on a study done evaluating pain during circumcision

This sounds like it was an actual study, not a retrospective one (if that's what you call a study done on information, not on actual procedures).  I'd like to read the actual study, but don't have the time to look it up.

Tried to find it. Found reprints and quotes of article, but not study. Searched Authur Gumer circumcision study' and found a youtube interview, but couldn't watch. It looked like they were about to show a circumcision, and I don't have the stomach for it.

I also found info stating that until 1987 open heart surgery was performed on newborns without pain medication, so the belief that newborns do not feel pain was challenged in the last 25 years.

Reasons for circumcision just make no sense to me. I am so glad I (though pretty uninformed at the time) decided not to circumcise my son.
