Sharp Cervical pains?? « Back to Group Discussions

Ive been having what feels like sharp cervical pains (not sure its my cervix but it feels like it) it usually happens when im at work, im a cashier and stand for a long time and walk alot and what not and i get these sharp pains and what i think is braxton hix...just wondering if anyone else is getting these? is this normal at 32 weeks? and if anyone has had this in other pregnancies is this a sign little one might be planning an earlier arrival?? lol im trying to convince her to stay in there till sep 19th (thats when my mom is coming in from out of state).

Not i, but someone else on another board just commented about how she's getting sharp shooting pains in her cervix and she had them the previous pregnancy shortly before baby decided to show (a few weeks).  Maybe something to ask your care provider about?  call or e-mail?

^_^ thank you, i have an ob appointment on  friday so i can ask more about it then, im just hoping its not anything productive, i want to keep working as long as possible but not if its going to force L.O out before she's ready

I am having these as well.  I am 33 weeks and have had them for about a week.  I usually only feel them about twice a day and they last no more than a second or two.  I did a quick internet search and it seems like it's completely normal.  I had them with DS1 but it seems like it was in the last few weeks of pregnancy.  It definitely doesn't hurt to ask your OB or midwife.  I will be telling my midwife at my next appointment, but if it gets worse, I will call and ask about it.

YES. :\ Haha. I get this, almost always when walking around. Stops me in my tracks, but just for a second or two. My mw says it's just the baby's head rotating a bit, though sometimes I could swear it was little hands playing around up there by her face. I guess the only thing that might be different in your case would be if you're having BH along with it?

(Incidentally, I've been horrifying my visiting friend this week by telling her about just this- the inside-out pap smears I keep getting. Feels just like when they do the swab, but from the other side of the cervix. Friend's reaction to this is endlessly entertaining.)

I've felt it a few times this pregnancy, but REALLY felt it with #3. It's like the baby has a sharp knife and it stabbing me repeatedly in the cervix. Fun!

lol its beautiful!! sometimes when i get this at work i also get a ridiculous amount of pressure and i feel i feel like baby is going to punch through my cervix and break my water it makes it very uncomfortable to walk around!

DD1 spent much of the end of the pregnancy with her hands at her head and thus at my cervix.  It was not fun.  She liked them up there.  She was born with one at her head too.  She was born at 38w0d, but I'm pretty sure that was unrelated to the cervical pain.

yes I had the distinct sensation that I was being punched in the cervix yesterday at the grocery store. It took my breath away and I doubled over slightly. DH got that terrified man-look in his eyes and I was like, no, this is not labor.. calm down..

haha this has happened to me at work where i have had really intense pressure from her pushing herself way down and then punching me and me having to stop and take a breath in the middle of checking someone out..the customers are like uh oh...you ok???
