Book for Nanny to read about early childhood the Waldorf way?

Hi all,

I just hired a new nanny and was wondering if there is any particular book you would recommend for me to have her read?  My child is only 2 but I want her to have a concept of Waldorf and what those early years should be like.

Beyond the Rainbow Bridge is specifically for the early years.  It's the best intro to Waldorf for those with small children that I have read.  Others might recommend Heaven On Earth, but I was not as pleased with it.  Too much information and not all of it practical or healthy (and that depends on your philosophies toward discipline).

Heaven on Earth was pretty good. Another similar book that is popular is Simplicity Parenting. I haven't read Beyond the Rainbow Bridge yet, but have heard good things about it as well as the book You Are Your Child's First Teacher.

Personally not a fan of Child's First Teacher b/c of her views on extended breastfeeding.

Rainbow Bridge is great. My fave was Heaven on Earth though which I thought was very practical. I am trying to remember what she said about discipline in there now though.... what did you not like?

I read Heaven on Earth a while back, I will have to browse through that one again. I can't remember the discipline piece either, but I guess I could tell her to disregard that part.

I didn't like the parts about time out (just not for us).  The general feel of the book seemed condescending to me, but lots of people really like it.   Simplicity Parenting is also really good, in general, for a whole family philosophy.
