Can't complain...but why is bedtime so different than naps/nightwakings? (4 month old)

My little guy gets nursed down for naps (usually, although sometimes he "talks" in arms w/o nursing) and goes back down fine after his middle-of-the night feedings (which are back up to 3 from 1, but that's another issue.)

My question is: why is he so much harder to settle at bedtime? My other LO was the same way. He'll nurse down at 6 or 7 pm, I'll think he's out cold, and then he'll wake up 10 minutes later. This repeats a few times before he finally sleeps.

Any advice? Or ideas why this is happening?

I am not sure of the "why" but I remember having similar experiences with my babies. I always thought that maybe the sleep patterns were different in the afternoon and at night.    shrug.gif

We have the same issue at almost 4 months.  I have been wondering if I need to tweak bedtime or something...
