placenta ingestion...

If you have done this with past pregnancies or are planning on doing it this time, how did you have your placenta prepared?  I have heard of people having it steamed or dried and then encapsulated, or just eating it raw or cooked.  Any other ways that I am missing? And why have you decided to do it this particular way?   TIA

I'm planning to have my placenta encapsulated.  I may do placenta smoothies for the first week.  The doula doing the encapsulation said she'd prep the placenta for smoothies by doing small frozen pieces (the size of a small ice cube) that gradually get smaller numbered for days 1-7.  Then I'd drink a smoothie (she recommends mixed berry) each day.  I'm debating if I'm brave enough to do that...  Right now I'm leaning towards doing it.  I drink smoothies every day anyway.

I'm having my encapsulated.  My friend is doing it.  She would make smoothies for me, but she lives too far away to make daily drops.  :)

I'm having mine encapsulated, also. My midwife's assistant makes pills from it. Not sure how, but I think it has to do with drying it and making a powder. Then she will direct me as to how many to take, etc.
