MOTHER NEEDS HELPFUL TIPS HOW TO GO BY ENROLLING VAX FREE SON INTO SCHOOL
You will need to file a personal beliefs exemption with the school. If it is a private preschool, I'm not sure if they have to accept the exemption, but if it is a preschool in a public school district, they do. Ask for the "blue card" to sign when you enroll your son.
If there is an outbreak of a vaccine-preventable illness, your son may be required to stay home until the outbreak is over. This happens occasionally, but is not very common.
Any public school you can simply sign the waivor on the back of the blue vaccination card. ITA, that I'm not sure private institutions must accept it, though? I have had the experience of contemplating enrolling one of my children at a preschool that sent a heavy-handed letter about vaccination, but when I called and specifically asked, "So you do not honor the California philosophical exemption?" their tune immediately changed and responded with "Oh yes, we do." Sometimes you just have to make sure you sound like you know what you're talking about to them. ;) Good Luck. And you may even still continue to receive letters about laws and what you must do by whatever date, but you don't. It's California, just sign the waivor.
