Birth Certificate help in NY

My midwife is a PA midwife so she can't help me with getting a birth certificate. Anyone know how to go about getting a birth certificate in NY when you don't have a hospital birth? I tried searching online to really no available info.

Do you have town government or county government? If it is town you should be able to go to your town office and register the birth. Your midwife should at least give you some form of documentation so that they can get what they need from it.  Then the state will issue the official copy.
