Ainh, Eleuthia, Sarahdb and Sallyrae- good luck!!!  Lilytiger - hope your LO comes very soon and doesn't keep you (and your Dad, who's sitting out his vacation) waiting too much longer!  (And regarding my EDD, mine has been moved a couple of times, but I've been pretty consistent w/the tape measure - now at 42cm(wks) as of Friday....)

Hey everyone, I'm still here, lol!  We're well into our 3rd weekend now w/no baby.....  The hospital has still not called us since our supposed "induction date" on Thurs, and at this point we've given up on calling them for updates.  With DH's parents and his DD arriving tomorrow, we figured that we'd make the most of these "extra days" to get them settled in, show them the stores and attractions around the neighborhood so that they can fend for themselves when we finally check in at the hospital.  I don't expect the hospital to free up anytime soon, still feeling no signs of labor, and since baby is doing fine, we're confident that we can wait this out until Monday (42 wks)..... I'm just a little nervous right now about delivering a 9 pounder!!!  On the plus side, we'll get to catch up w/DH's family for a day (pre-baby, less distracted and still relatively rested), show off the belly, and communicate some of our boundaries and expectations for the week before things get crazy.  And really importantly, we'll get to focus on some quality time w/step-DD and help set her expectations for what things will be like when we bring baby home (I was really stressed about our house turning into a circus w/everybody arriving simultaneously and how she would adjust).  I still think I may need that extra day at the hospital for DH and I though.... but am feeling a bit more in control about the overall situation.....

....And now we're off to the movies, yet again!!!

Aaaaaaaaaaand my contractions have completely stopped. Of course. :)

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with my contractions either. They were on and off all day. Then I was on my feet for a couple of hours, and they were coming consistently every 7 minutes. Now I'm sitting down with my feet up for the evening, and they seem to have stopped completely. To be honest, I wouldn't mind if they didn't start up again tonight, and just held off for a little bit longer. But I don't like not knowing exactly what's going on!

This contraction update thread is making me so excited!

My visit today went GREAT.  They said that this week's BP readings were all good, and that if I have another week like this then they're comfortable having me back at the center!  They'll be watching me super closely and will transfer to the hospital if there's any sign of a problem, of course, but still!  I am SO happy, which of course makes me more relaxed, which can only help my BP.  Yay!

I hope everyone's babies come soon...I'm thinking happy & active uterus thoughts for everyone!

yay! such good news! here's to next week being just as good as this week.

well signs that labor issoonish are all over with me, but nothing huge so far. thurs and fri  i had BH all over the place. never painful, but they got regular enough a few times that i started watching the clock. And i was seeing small pieces of what i'm pretty sure was my mucus plug every time i went to the bathroom. then friday afternoon my bowels started emptying themselves and i thought for sure things would pick up. nope. then yesterday, nothing. i had maybe 2 contractions all day. today, well we'll see. i did have some brighter red mucus when i wiped this morning. 

Since I've never gone into labor on my own I feel like a first time mom here.  I'm really not sure what I should be looking for or how early labor feels.

Also I love my dad, but he's driving me nuts.  Every night he calls to ask if I'm in laborand always seems to sad when I'm not.  He's so excited for the baby (which is awesome and I love) and he's a worrier so he's concerned for me.  He's not used to this waiting for the baby thing. My mom had 1 induction turned c-section, then 3 scheduled c-sections so he always knew what day and time his kids would be born.

Sorry for the weird typos, lack of capitalization, and spelling errors.  My tablet does not like MDC and refuses to cooperate plus it's really hard to get the cursor i the right place to fix stuff.  grrr

Pennywhistle that is so great that you are likely headed back to the birth center.  Such good news!  I have a good feeling about lots of babies this week (I'm looking at you Eleuthia, Ainh, Sarahdb, Lilytiger and Sallyrae!).  Boots, I hope your strength is coming back and you are feeling so much better.  Your little guy is just amazingly cute!  I can't quite believe it's almost the middle of August.  How on earth did that happen so quickly?  

My husband and I do catering off our farm and we did a wedding yesterday night for 130 people.  The high temperature = 111 degrees.  Self-pity level = all time high.  BUT, now I am freeeeee (mostly) to focus on baby stuff!  I'm eager to meet this baby, but having another week or two to get some r&r and get the house ready to go will be better for everyone in the long run, I know.

Today is my EDD based on my LMP. According to an early ultrasound before switching to the midwives, it is the 17th

The day has come and we are finally going to get this started (induction) !!  Hospital called last night for us to come in, just as my inlaws were rolling into town after a 12hr road trip - I told them to hold off until Monday so we could get our guests settled (heck they made us wait 4 days for that phone call alone!!).  And now we're getting ready to head in.....  I have no idea how today will go - could be waiting a while for things to kick in - and during that time I don't know what I'll be doing w/myself (I'm to share a room w/3 other patients before I go into "real" labor and get transferred to my own room, no wifi, no good food.... arghhh!)

SO excited to welcome the newest batch of babies over the past few days/weekend!!!!  Congrats and huge hugs, Mamas!!!  Hope to check back in with y'all soon from the "other side" !!  xoxoxo

Awww, Joy, I'll be thinking about you today, too! I hope things go as planned and it won't be too long until you're holding your baby!

Thinking of your Joy! and all the other mama's in early labor! Its so exciting to see all the weekend updates on Monday. It seems like our babies are already big weekend fans. ;)
