This is from a few days ago; Willow waved at the perfect moment!!

OMG, Hannabee, the chub!!  She's gorgeous, I want to eat her up!!  :)

They're all so sweet... and so grown-up!  Where did time go?  Blink and we'll have toddlers!

Omg montessorimama, what a HANDSOME little guy!

Conchobar, Niamh has the sweetest little face.

Look at all that HAIR on Scarlett!

And Willow is just amazing, look at her standing there in all her chunky glory!  joy.gif

Oh monetessorimama, I usually give DD a hard boiled egg with just the yolk for her to feed herself.  I may mash it up with some coconut oil and feed it to her tonight though.  She's up more than often at night this week, and I want to see if more food in her belly means more sleep.

We make beautiful babies!

E is amazing! I love love love this little guy SO much. I'm truly in love and he's my fourth baby (by birth). How can love duplicate itself like this...it's amazing! He has been a total blessing. Because of him, my life has changed for the better. My spirituality has shifted and I am very happy! I'm so grateful to him for what he brought to my life!

He is awesome with the exception of him using me as a pacifier throughout the entire night. He does pull off now but once he gets through the next sleep cycle, he latches back on, falls back asleep and pops off and the cycle continues..all.night.long. I wish he would take a paci. I need to change the sleep arrangements but I'm too lazy to deal with all the crying and stress. duh.gif I totally created the "monster". I should have put an end to it a long time ago but it never felt like the "right" time to "train" him to sleep without me. I really want my nights back to be with DH. Our relationship has weathered the hardest part (those early months and definite depression on my part from tending to his every whimper with my boobs)  but now, i just want to hang out at night for an hour or two and enjoy our marriage without kids interfering! I'm going to start a thread on this next!

Anyway, E went from barely rolling to rolling constantly both ways, arm crawling across the room, getting in crawling position (but not exactly crawling), sitting up unassisted, pulling up to a stand and standing up against something unassisted all in under 3 weeks. CRAZY how fast things can change! No teeth but they're coming!

Food..well I'm starting a thread on that one too!

Lovin' the pics, ladies!! So, glad we are back to this format, too! I couldn't keep up with the email format!

Little Critter is a blast and very easy going! He loves to giggle (so much different form my serious Mr. DS1!). I just pretend like I am going to tickle him and he laughs! Makes me melt. He's sitting pretty good and trying to get up on his hands and knees, but he can't sit himself up or crawl yet. He dotes on his big brother (DH took DS1 out last Saturday and the were gone for hours, and DS2 was sooo cranky. As soon as he saw his big brother he was fine!!). He (unlike his big brother) sleeps pretty good. He wakes every few hours to eat or just make sure I'm there, but settles pretty easily. He wakes about every 30 min. before I go to bed though... but he's pretty distracted during the day, and he eats a lot everytime he wakes, so I think he's just making up for that. It's crazy having 2. The house is a disaster and sometimes food doesn't get cooked (or gets burned), but we are surviving! Also, it hasn't been 110 lately, so we've been outside more often which has been nice!

I think he tried to sign "milk" the other day. He makes this little motion with his hand and wrist and got excited when I signed milk back and then he nursed. I was thinking the other times were just flukes, but this last time seemed so deliberate... I don't know!!

He's adorable! Tell me more about the waking every 30 minutes before you go to bed. E does that too. What do you do for your ds? I gave in and just hit the sack with E at 7-8pm and use my IPad Kindle app for reading until I fall asleep.

Amanda T - A while back I remember you asking to join our group (maybe in the LWAB group?!) and I saw your avatar and thought "Oh, she must have an older kid, too, because that girl is so not an infant."  Now that I see another photo of Scarlet I'm amazed at her features!  She's so grown looking and missing all the baby lumpiness.  Soooo cute with the bow and all that hair!

I love seeing all your babies!  It's so wonderful watching them grow. :)

AfricanQueen99- Thank yousmile.gif  I know she looks so old!  I feel like she was in the newborn/infant stage for such a short period. Those are her 6 month pictures, but because of her hair and height people think she's a year all the time. I already miss my tiny baby!

Hey everyone, this format is sooooo much nicer. Glad to be able to do this again and catch up!!

Henry is doing well.  Just shy of seven months and is weighing around 20 lbs.  Forgot the height, but I know that he is in the 75th percentile...

No teeth yet, but drooling and gnawing on everything like crazy. Waiting on his amber necklace to arrive in the mail so we can test it out.

Just started army crawling/scooting across the floor a few weeks ago. Usually only does it when he wants to get to big brother.  Occasionally says mama (mostly when he is crying and upset). Mostly just lots of happy baby talking :o)

Have started solids and has loved all of them.  Did have an allergic reaction to bananas that involved projectile vomiting that scared the hell out of me, but other than that- all good.

Do any of you mommies do baby led weaning? I've been looking into trying it...

Amanda - I agree with AQ, your daughter looks like she's a year old!  So cute and very aware!

Bentlaj - How cool that your LO started signing already??  I'm pretty sure mine understands a few of the signs but he hasn't made an effort to communicate with them yet.

chilichiki - How great to hear from you!!  Your boys are so great, look how Henry is looking at his older brother!

Hi! I just recently discovered this great site and found this group today. I have an amazing little girl who will be seven months on August 21st. She is EBF, cloth diapered, thisclose to crawling, teething, says da da, ga ga, and ba ba, in process of learning sign language, loves being outside, is very aware and observant, and smiles at me when I talk to her...

We are getting over our first sickness over here.  DD caught a cold at grandma's house.  Started with a stuffy nose, then a MISERABLE mucous-y babe for 2.5 days, and we finally took her to the doc when her chest started rattling.  Definitely a little scary, but she finally feels better.  We are using a nebulizer to break up that goop her in chest.  Has anyone else dealt with a sick babe yet?

fayth2012 - Welcome!  It sounds like your LO is a bundle of joy!  :)

element - wow, sure sounds icky.  Glad to hear she's doing better now, the chest rattling would freak me out!

Oh my gosh...it is so good to be back to this format.  I hadn't been on MDC for so long b/c I didn't feel like I had anyone to connect with.  I missed you mammas!  Those babies are too cute!  I'll try to get one of Eli on here soon.

Chili - we do baby led weaning.  We just hand him a chunk of banana, avacado, sweet potato, etc.  He also eats some organic rice crackers called Mum Mums.  No cereal here.  So far he just mashes it into his face and gets some in his mouth.  I'm actually surprised by how much he swallows, but if a chunk is too big he spits it out.  He's really only gagged once on a bit of raw celery.  He has 2 teeth so I probably shouldn't have given him something so hard - didn't realize he'd bite off a piece.  It was fine, just scared him a bit.  I think he cried because I swiped his throat when he didn't stop gagging.  Overall it's really fun.  My older son didn't eat solids until after 10 months so it's a bit of a new experience for me.  Eli gets so mad if we're eating and he's not.  He'll grab everything off the table!  I need to come up with some new ideas for him to eat...

Element - Eli also had a bad cold around 4 months.  His older brother was never sick so I took him for a check up to make sure it wasn't pneumonia.  All the raspiness was just post nasal drip around his larynx.  I felt so guilty b/c he's in daycare a couple times a week while his older brother didn't go until he was 2.

And there Eli wanting his first evening snack!

Thanks! I will try to get him back in his crib once or twice, but usually on the third try (or if it's close to my bedtime) I just hold him in the rocking chair (in the living room so I can still hang with DH) until I get ready to go to bed. I don't get anything done in the evenings, so that means an extra messy house. We don't have to be anywhere in the mornings, so I don't have to get things ready or have anything really pressing. I've been struggling with his naps (DS1 likes to wake him up..ugh!), so I try to let him sleep as much as he can at night even if it's only in my arms.

Element- I hope your LO feels better soon. DS2 had roseola a few months ago, but it was short lived and didn't involve much beyond a fever.

Welcome, Fayth!

Chili- such a cute pic!! I love how DS2 dotes on DS1. I hope they will be best buds when they are older, because I can already see how much DS2 looks up to him! We do BLW with him (and did with DS1 as well). He loves shoving food in his mouth, but mostly gags, swallows some and spits some out. DS1 always played with his food (and still really doesn't like to eat much), but DS2 will eat us out of house and home if he keeps going at this rate!

We do.  It couldn't be easier.  Honestly, the thought of shoveling food by spoon into my kids with that horrible smelling stuff they call "food" skeeves me out a bit!

I just put food on her high chair tray and she tries to pick it up and get it in her mouth.  Some days she's more efficient than others.  Tonight she had ham (I chewed it up a bit), cauliflower and crackers.  I will say that when she's really hungry she gets *pissed* that she can't feed herself fast enough - she's the first of my three to get annoyed at her own speed, too.

Oh my goodness, what a cute group of little people we have going here!  Here is my W:

He is suuuuuch a sweet and mellow baby compared to his older brother.  He is always smiley and is happy to play with me or his brother, but just as happy to just play by himself.  He'll crawl around quietly, find something to play with, sit himself down and play with it for sometimes as long as 20 minutes a stretch.  This seems totally incredible compared to #1.  :)  Also incredible-- he naps on a loose sort of schedule (pretty much 2-3-4) and only wakes up once (once!!) to nurse at night.  I swear I won the baby lottery this time.  If they were all like this, I'd have 20.

(My mom, on hearing this, told me gravely:  oh yeah, that's exactly how you end up with a third baby.  She should know, she has 5!)

He is super super mobile though.  He started crawling 2 months ago (!) which was a big big surprise as his brother was almost 8 months when he crawled.  He's cruising now which is a new world of fun.  It makes me a bit sad though because I feel like he didn't spend a lot of time in the "little baby" phase.

He weighs about 20 lbs and is like 90th percentile for height... enough chub for me to squeeze and tickle, not so much that he's breaking my back.

His only real downsides are that he does not like to be held by ANYONE but me, for any reason, ever, and he's not into strangers at all.  At.  All.  When strangers try to flirt with him at the grocery store, usually he hides his face and sometimes he cries.  It's awful.  He is starting childcare next week (I am returning to graduate school) and I am kind of terrified that he's going to howl the whole time with a new person.

he's so adorable! E is the same way about strangers! If I were to put him in childcare, I would insist on transitioning him with his new caregiver. Can you bring W in every day this week and be with him as he adjusts to the new caregiver? It would help to ease his anxiety and he will trust him/her a lot faster if you're there! I did this with our mother's helper and E now loves her!

these are some good looking babies!

and coldandsleepy --- i laughed at what your mom said! when you have an easy baby, you want more..and because DS is so sweet and easy (albeit the crazy sleep patterns we're into right now) i am already longing for another.

so for those mamas whose babes are crawling or about to crawl, did you experience the 'right before hitting a milestone sleep regression?' we are waking up every two hours at night and it's killllliiing me. i nap with him now during the day or else i think i would fall asleep walking. he wakes up, gets on hands and knees and rocks and practices his crawl. yesterday he took a few crawl steps a couple times and slept way better last night. i'm giving him tons of time on the floor to practice when he's awake, so hopefully that will help some. i swear he looks like a zombie in the middle of the night on all fours with his head hanging, eyes closed, and rocking back and forth making some crazy noises!
