Need school lunch ideas

Dd is starting KG this year. Need school lunch ideas. Except a little cheese and butter we don't use any other animal products. I can only think of 3-4 meals and then of course there's certain things she won't eat. Zucchini and sweet pepper are two of them.

Thanks a lot.

Here's one of my favorite sites/blogs for vegan and vegetarian lunches:

http://www.veganlunchbox.com/gallery.html

I packed lunches for three years for DD (between ages 2 and 5) and now for summer day camp.  I have modified a lot of the recipes from the blog to fit my circumstances, availability of food, DD's likes and dislikes, etc., but my goal was to keep it interesting.

If I'm in a pinch, I always keep hummus and raw vegetables on hand, as well as cheese sticks and fresh fruit.  DD likes yogurt, so I try to send that several times a week.  She does love her little bento boxes, though.  I try to fill them with olives, fresh cut veggies, fruit, cheese and beans.  Rice is hard to do because sometimes it gets brittle.  DD will eat cold pasta salad, though.  Good luck with this!  I find it easier to prepare most everything the night before so there is no decision-making in the morning.

Thanks, I can't wait to check it out.

I LOVE these!  Have been using them for about 3 years.  I even got the kids school (dd going into 2nd and son into kinder) to sell them.  I are plastic, not ideal, but this works for our family.  I don't have to keep track of 10 pieces and it goes in the dishwasher.  AND it helps me organize with the 3 compartments.

Her blog or FB page has LOTS of great ideas!

For me, I do BEST when I put leftovers (approved of course winky.gif) directly into the container as I'm cleaning up from dinner.  That's my VERY ideal/favorite.

I logged on here to get some dinner/lunch ideas myself.  I love making food for my family, but I don't love the 'i don't know's' when I'm scrambling for meal ideas.

ALSO I want to be more organized.

I'm going to make a list of approved lunches and dinners.

Some lunches that we've done -

- veggie sushi

- hummus wraps or dip

- hard boiled eggs

- left over mac n cheese

- Morning Star chic tenders (not real chicken)

- yogurt

I'm going to search now for myself as well as this list isn't inspiring me yummy.gif
