So I'm purchasing a La Bassine Pool and of course you can go crazy with all the add ons. How necessary is the pool liner if you are the only one using it? Is it worth the 35 bucks for one? What about a pool cover?

You can cover a pool with an extra shower curtain, $3 at Target. A liner would make it easier for cleanup, and makes it more likely you can sell the pool if you want. Perhaps get the opinion of whomever would be in charge of cleanup?

I'd look into the cover if you were going to resell it or loan it to others after you use it.
