looking for a home birth midwife in Chapel Hill area

Thread Starter

Hi everyone,

Nancy Harman has been my midwife for my last two births, but I have been unable to contact her. I am aware that most of the midwives no longer have backup and can't practice. I have lost her cell phone number, and it seems impossible to track down. I am guessing she's out of town, though bc her main phone mailbox is so full, it can't accept messages.

A midwife friend (a CNM) who is leaving the area bc of the situation said that there is still a possibility some MWs may have backup. Any info about that?

Also, I would consider a CPM, but to my knowledge, they have all been told to "cease and desist."

My husband thinks we should relocate for the birth, but I want to give birth in THIS house! I am not very far along, but I would still like to rest easy knowing that I have care.

Please help!

Thanks so much,

I can't help, but I'm in the same boat. :( I'm also near Chapel Hill and was going to contact carrboro midwifery when everything went down.

Did either of you find a midwife or Nancy's phone number?  PM me, I can help.
