joy.gif Oh I knew you all would love Cedar Jame! orngtongue.gif  @Tropicana74 - It wasn't until a little while after we had chosen the names Cedar James that I realized his initials would be C.J. I'm actually not a big fan of using initials as a name. I really hope "C.J" does NOT become his name. lol. I guess I feel like I spend so much time trying to pick the perfect name and if in the end we just end up calling him letters, well....lol.

Cedar James is a great name! Fairly unique, earthy and easy to spell for the masses. ;) I totally get you on the initial names - if they want to go by it later of their own choice, that's fine, but until then... :)

Great news on the name front - DP & I spent about an hour talking names on our road trip, and he LOVES Talysen!!!! I already knew he liked our girl name (I've had that one picked out for 11 years, lol, he wasn't getting a choice on THAT!) but was worried he wouldn't like Talysen & I had totaly fallen in love. So girl will still be Seradwynn Arrianna, boy will be Talysen something (still talking about that part).

I love hearing everyone's names so far! They are all so sweet! Our baby boy is named Judah Emerson.  Rowan and Emerson were a close 2nd and 3rd for first name choices. If he would have been a girl, some of our names were Emmaline, Ophelia, and Rosalind.

The last two were boys, so the girl name is pretty much ready : Anna Rose

Unless I decide to change the middle name for something else.  Though I think DH really likes it the way it is.

For boys, I like James, Timothy, Peter....yeah, I like traditional names mainly, though sometimes with a flair!  If I don't have some 'knowing' before the LO is here I'll just wait and get to know the baby for a while if it's a boy.  All of my kids, their names really fit them amazingly LOL.

Well, I already shared a little bit about our name challenges. For our first name, we will use John, although I don't really want him to go by John. His older brother is James, and if boy #2 went by John, we would have James and John (in the Bible, they were brothers and disciples), and as regular church attenders, I just felt like it was a little too cheesy. So, the dilemma is what middle name would we use that he would go by. Several possibilities that were suggested all had some sort of problem. My husband's middle name is August, which I love but unfortunately DH does not. My brother's name is Jacob, which my brother vetoed on the grounds that he would use that one day (I did point out that he is 33, unmarried, and not even dating anyone seriously so I didn't think that was fair!). My grandfather's middle name was Andrew, but he already has a cousin Drew only a few years older than him.

So, my sister suggested using August, since it is my favorite, but calling baby boy Jack. This was actually my husband's grandfather's given name, so DH is finally on board with one choice. But I don't know that I love it! Why is Jack a nickname for John anyway?? Well, unless something else suddenly sounds better to DH, baby boy will be John August, but we will call him Jack.

By the way, I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the earthy, original or unusual names y'all are using. I worry some that the very traditional names my kids will have will be boring in comparison to so many of their classmates one day. Although, I must say we at least did well with my daughter, giving her two first names that sound beautiful together and EVERYONE comments on how much they love her name (Sarah Grace).

Our little boy will be Jude Wesson, although we seriously considered Anson as a middle name and I think it's really cool.  For a girl I wanted Carys Eisley. Omg I'm still upset that I can't use that name lol. I still want another little girl :( Not that I DONT want this little boy, but just that I wish I was in a position in life and emotionally to be able to have more kids. I just have so much fun with my daughter and really reeally wanted another one. Anyway, I digress...For girl names I also like Aria and Lyric. I also think Ryan is cute for a girl name. Just putting those out there since I can't use em anyway lol!

I can't remember who said what because my short term memory is caput, but I love the names Judah and Cedar. As a side note, I have loved the name Cedar for awhile but have never heard of anyone using it so I was excited that someone may be using it. It's a great name!

OH MY WORD! We have a new name dilemma! My mom just forwarded me an email from my one of my older sisters. She and her husband are very unexpectedly pregnant with their third baby, due in January. They struggled for years to get pregnant with each of their little girls, and something must have clicked fertility-wise because they are having a surprise baby in January (and their younger daughter turns one in October). Well, she is about 6 weeks behind me pregnancy-wise and so they just found out they are having a boy and decided to name him . . . John Christopher, and call him Jack!

I am just realizing that we had not shared our name with all of the family since we were still so unsettled on it until a few weeks ago!

So, it looks like our Jack will have a cousin named Jack just a month or two younger than him. What should we do?

If you really love the name Jack, above all others, then yes, your baby will have a cousin with the same name :)

Such lovely names for theses babies! It's fun to see what other people are naming their little ones.

Our baby girl's name is Claire Maria. Claire, because we just adore the name! Maria, after my mother in law. Our first daughter's middle name is after my mom, so with our second little girl, we're using DH's mom's name for the middle name.
