What do you think about painting? « Back to Group Discussions

Hey, all.  Hope everyone is feeling ok - I know I'm exhausted.  My wife and I just moved two months ago, and we are still working on making the house feel like home.  We have some rooms that still need painting (including the room formerly considered the guest room...now nervously called the baby's room!).  What are your thoughts on painting while pregnant?  The internet has mixed reports - some sites say don't do it at all, others say it's fine if it's well-ventilated and not a full time job.  We use BEHR paint, so it's not one that is low or no VOCs.  I don't want to do anything that could risk harm, of course, but I also don't want to duck out on the major chores that need doing around here.  Thoughts?

This is one of the only times in your life you can get out of painting easily. I'd run with it!

I've done some painting and other major chores while pregnant, but it's definitely something you should be really careful with, especially if there isn't excellent ventilation.

I would feel comfortable using no VOC paint, but I wouldn't be comfortable using conventional paint.  That's just my two cents!
