vaginal swelling anyone?

Ah the joys of pregnancy.  I've been dealing with some swelling and pressure for several weeks now.  I didn't experience it at all with ds.  I know it's normal, but I would hate to develop a vaginal hemorrhoid--just read about those things this morning.  So I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and has found anything to relieve the pressure.  I find it's worse toward the end of the day, after I've been on my feet for hours, when I'm standing or walking around carrying ds, and especially after DTD.  I'm trying to stay off my feet (ha!) as much as possible and not do any unnecessary lifting,   Today I used an ice pack which was fairly effective at least while it was applied.  I'm wondering if arnica might help taken orally or applied topically and if anyone has any advice on that.  From what I've read on homeopathic blogs, it is safe during pregnancy, just wondering if systemic or local application might be more effective.

Anyway, any tips or advice on mitigating this super fun symptom would be welcome.  I'm thinking if it's this uncomfortable now, I don't even want to know what it will feel (or look) like if the last month.

TIA

Oh man, you bring up vaginal swelling, and it's crickets lol.gif

Well I'm going to start the arnica pellets tonight.  I'll keep you posted on how it works out.  I know you all are dying to hear about it!

Awww, its not even been two days, give us a minute to catch up with you!  I hope the arnica works.  I'm mostly just feeling alot of pressure on my bladder.  When I lay down, I have to go the bathroom automatically, it doesn't matter if I just freaking went!  We're moms now, we get to complain about whatever bodily function we want to, when we want to.  :) Its oly fair, since our bodies are complainig at us, right?

I'm constantly peeing.  Constantly.  I tell ds about a hundred times a day, "Mommy has to go pee!" and he gleefully follows me to the bathroom saying, "PEE!"  He loves to watch the toilet flush.

I don't know if the arnica is working or not.  The one thing that seems to have really made a difference is no dtd.  Poor dh :(

Sorry to hear that you're going through that, and while I can't say I have vaginal swelling, I have been dealing with bacterial vaginosis.  Thankfully, it's been mild but it's still there and irritating (and burning when I pee).  So I can relate to what you're going through b/c we're not dtd either.  There's no shortage of lovely things to deal with during pregnancy.  I hope you feel completely better soon.

ugh, dtd is so unfairly hard right now.  Its like I have this unending desire but absolutely no satisfaction, grrr.  I suspect the bladder is partly to blame, what with having to go every few minutes.  But I can't stop drinking all this extra water either, I'm so thirsty!

what you said.

I want to have sex, I know that after the bub is born it'll be months before I even get a tingle down there, and dh will be sex-depressed.  How I can drink so much water and be so dry down there?  Except for when I pee on myself, I do that pretty damn often.  And there's no orgasm anymore, it's turns into muscle spasms and braxton hicks.

TMI:  we *may* have bought a ummm....marital aid and it was like 'get that vibrating piece of shit away from there'.  Dh gets back from his trip today and there will be no nookie.

Sorry to the OP about your challenges!  No swelling, just discomfort and pressure.  DTD is out of the option right now....although I dream about it constantly.  Just little interest when I feel so tired/big/sore etc.  :(  I want to hit the pillow at 8 and that's almost immediately after kids are asleep.  Agree with PP though in that I should try to get more in now b/c after this little one comes, if like my past babies, I find sex so uncomfortable for at least 3-4 months.  Like painful uncomfortable.  Sooooo......it's a bit of a no win situation right now.  :)
