Searching for OHP dentist for my kids

Thread Starter

Hi there,

I have currently been paying out of pocket for my kids to see Dr. Pike (we love their approach), but with three kids, I can't afford it!  He is letting us do a varnish application to their teeth (there is a fair amount of decay), and waiting it out.  The decay has been completely stopped in one of my twins, and almost in the other.  We have filled one cavity, but are leaving the other teeth for now.

We would like a "nice" dentist who creates a nice environment for the kids with their gentle approach.  My girls cheer when they know we are going to the dentist.  :)

Any recommendations?  I'm not sure about Pediatric Dentists, as they often have an under 5 new patient guideline and I have an eight year old.  Also, the first Pediatric Dentist we saw wanted them under anesthesia over a year ago and wouldn't see them without doing that work.

Any ideas???  I haven't been on Mothering for quite some time.  I used to love it for the multiples forum, and gained the confidence to homebirth my girls through my interaction on that board.  I know I am "new" here, but really hoping someone will have an idea.  :)

Thanks in advance!!!
