I already have a sensitive gut due to ulcerative colitis, so maybe my (15 week) uterus is just heavy enough to cause problems for an overly sensitive gut.
I've been done with morning sickness for a couple of weeks now, but a few days ago I started dealing with nausea through the day, feeling low energy and some bowel movement issues that I won't gross you out with.
I would wake up feeling fine, eat something and slowly start feeling worse as the day went on. I was also having some pretty smelly gas. No fever.
During this time I had also been dealing with some bad breast pain on one side (I had worn my purse for a long time one day and it had my water bottle in it and was resting over my breast. This kind of thing has happened to me before) and after several days of breast pain, then starting to feel flu-like, I looked up info on nonlactational mastitis. It didn't really seem to fit the bill.
I also looked up back sleeping since we had been talking about it on here and saw that back sleeping with a heavy uterus can cause intestinal problems. So I figured I'd try sleeping on my side and see what happened.
I've slept on my sides for the last 2 nights and the nausea is gone. Energy is back and I am not parked on the couch feeling sick. Bowel movements are better but not great. I imagine it'll take a bit of time to heal whatever was going on since my system is wacky anyway.
So, just wanted to share in case anyone else is having any gut issues, you may want to consider not sleeping on your back.
Also, sleeping on my sides totally sucks. It's only been 2 nights and my hips are killing me and I'm tossing and turning all night long. 6 more months of this?! Yikes!!
