When will you have baby shower? - Page 2

kellybeth--Maybe you can make a request that people ship stuff directly to you and just include a picture of what they got you in a card at the shower? That's what I did for my bridal shower, which I had to travel out-of-state for.

You could also return stuff while you're there, get store credit and re-purchase when you get home...kind of a hassle but will do in a pinch!

I also thought it was weird that people insist on going into Babies R Us and buying, as I get overwhelmed every time I go in that place! Plus half the stuff I registered for is not available in every store, so people may have to order online anyway. But I suppose we can't break others' habits :)

mine will be in december, since i have to fly across the country for it. it was going to be in january, but i said i am not comfortable flying so late in my pregnancy, so december it is. all the family that has been called has not returned phone calls, and they are always flying here and there for the holidays so i'm a little annoyed with it all. i wish we could just do it virtually. going to airports really stresses me out anyway. my mom MADE me register at babies r us, in addition to my amazon registry, because apparently some people don't know how to use a computer or like going into stores and buying stuff. it makes me even more nervous, because i live across the country and hate the idea of trying to get all the stuff back home with me, but i don't want to sound ungrateful. at least with online registries they can have it shipped to me. blah

I have to fly back for my shower, too, and this is exactly what happend to me. (eye roll) My sister-in-law was freaking out about grandma not being able to use Amazon. I'm like, why don't you help her with that? She's probably going to go in on a gift with another relative anyway! My store registry only has small, light things on it, so hopefully people take the hint. I plan on checking a large empty suitcase to fill on the way back.

my mom wants to drive out from ky to co with her van loaded down with baby stuff which is silly, but she is a drivin' fool and it will give her a chance to see me off before the baby comes, too. there is no convincing her otherwise. oh well, i tried.

babiesrus is completely overwhelming. i think it was more so since i just didn't want to be there.

& kat216, i think i will check an empty suitcase, too. my fiance and i both can do that and it will help a lot i believe. :)

we have the date set for december 8th, which is before christmas parties and all that business, and its a saturday. we're getting it catered, are using a party planner and having it in a nice hotel with a block of rooms & have it in a conference room overlooking the city, since we are driving to yet another state from my mother's for it to cater to my family. my family is so lazy, i swear to god.
