Nursing pre-schooler causing lots of braxton hicks « Back to Group Discussions

For those of you nursing a child, are they causing a lot of braxton hicks for you?  I'm 32 1/2 weeks, and every time my 3 year nurses he causes lots of braxton hicks.  It's getting uncomfortable and makes me a bit nervous with the possibilities of it causing pre-term labor, but the braxton hicks stop once he stops nursing. So I think it's okay.

Yes, same thing is happening to me. Im about 32 weeks and nursing a 2.5 year old. Sometimes the BH contractions are mild and sometimes they seem pretty strong and painful - thats usually when I cut him off :) Everything I've read says that nursing does not cause preterm labor so I've been going by that, but it still makes me a little nervous too and is definitely uncomfortable!

I am nursing a 3 year old and when she nurses for a longer period like when we are trying to get her to sleep, I also get contractions.  I am ignoring them.  Hopefully, that is ok.

I still nurse my 2 year old. Some of my contractions while doing so have been very painful, but since they stop when I stop, I'm rolling with it for now.
