Questions about Hib vax

Thread Starter

We started my DD on a delayed, selective schedule and were going relatively slowly until she had a febral seizure at 9mo. At that point, us as her parents and her Dr agreed to take it even SLOWER to prevent over-taxing her system at any one point to prevent even a slight fever. Well, we ended up going SO SLOW that we all but forgot about them entirely.  I just got her records because her Dr doesn't do vax in-office anymore so i had to know what she still needed. She's now 25months old and she has not received any of the Hib vax.

At this age, would the Hib vax be necessary/recommended?

If she's never had any HIB at all, then you'd only need ONE dose now to have the full protection that getting the whole 4 dose series would have provided. It's not that important of a vaccine at this age though, since most of the 25 annual cases in the U.S. occur under 2 years of age. But the risk isn't zero. So, you'd have to decide.
