Who is waiting to see/hear the heartbeat/1st appt thread « Back to Group Discussions

My first appt. will be this Friday and I am hoping all is well. I am hoping to see movement along w a heartbeat. 
I will be 7 wks 5 days then.
Has anybody had their first appt yet? Wanna share?

I'm not scheduled to go in for that until Sept 13 when I'll be 9 weeks. Going to be a hard, long wait for me.

I had my apt on Thursday and saw our jelly bean (not really any movement) but we did see the heart beat flickering. The tech said she'd really prefer not to turn the dopler on for such little beans (7w3d) because it's such a strong, focused ultra sound wave and that was fine with us. Being able to see the hb was plenty reassuring for me!

The midwife I'm seeing doesn't do the first appointment until 10 weeks... I'm just at 5... so awhile to go. I'm so anxious to hear little bean!!

I've had two losses and I want nothing more than to go and have an u/s RIGHT NOW. But, I am going to wait until at least 8 weeks. I feel like by that point all will be pretty much set in stone and I can trust what I see.

I asked that we wait to schedule my first appointment at 15 weeks. Due to a tipped uterus they might not be able to find the heart beat at 12 weeks and I didn't want to worry if she couldn't.  In the mean time she's been awesome about answering any questions I have by e-mail.

I have an interview with a midwifery team next week, to see if we jive. So at this time I don't even have a first appointment scheduled.

My first appt will be Sept 6th which will be a day before 9 weeks. It seems like sooo far away. I'm currently 6w3d.

My midwife doesn't do the first appointment until 12w.  I'm 7w3d so I've got a little less than 5 weeks to go. I feel okay about that.

I must admit I am counting the days to Friday bc seeing the heart beating will let me believe this is real.

We had our first appointment yesterday and saw the heartbeat! So cool. It made a difference for me; I think it calmed me down that everything was okay. My DH was so overjoyed and it was great to share that with him.

Yay congrats Munchkin!

We also had our first appt yesterday and I was SO relieved to see that little fluttering heartbeat. I had wondered if I was carrying twins bc I feel so big so soon but nope, only one in there. Whew.

She estimates baby is 6 1/2 weeks along from the measurements. I will go back in 2 weeks to be sure.

I found out I was pregnant seven days ago and have had three appointments so far... with another scheduled for Monday for an ultrasound. 

After having a m/c five months ago, I was on edge when had a positive pt. And on top of that, my AF had been over a week late with no positive pt until last Saturday. All of a sudden, I tested and had a faint line. I called the doctor Monday and had an appointment for Tuesday. Because of my previous m/c, the doctor ordered to have blood work done to check my hCG levels since I had so many negative tests with a late period, and still, the one at the doctor's office had a faint line. 

Wednesday, they called to let me know that I needed to come in again... They LOST my blood! What?! I had to make another trip to the doctor's office to have blood drawn again. Those beta levels came back at only 600. My doctor was a little skeptical, but said he wasn't going to worry unless they hadn't doubled by Friday. I went back yesterday to have blood drawn AGAIN, and they called me at 2 yesterday to assure me that my hCG levels had doubled!! I was so relieved. 

My doctor explained that with a transvaginal ultrasound, they can usually spot at least a sac by the time that the hCG levels reach around 2000. So DH and I are hoping for good news.. and to see our little baby on Monday! ... I'm just really frustrated, because at this point, we have no idea how far along I am. The doctor just thinks that I ovulate really late or had a late implantation as of right now.

I have an appointment on the 30th. It's probably just a meet the midwife and fill out paperwork sort of thing, but I'm hoping they will check my progesterone as well.
