nervous. 14 weeks and spotting!

This is my second pregnancy (I have 6 year old daughter.) I have had red spotting this afternoon. I never had this in my first pregnancy, so I am freaked out! I just got confirmation I was pregnant last week, and they think I am about 14 weeks (at the time it was 13) I wasn't able to get my first OB appoitment til the 29th. I am so scared. Is this normal? I think I should go to the. ER, would that be right???

Can you call you OB office and talk to someone? If you're worried, you should get checked out. Some spotting, for some women is normal. Especially if you had intercourse recently. Good luck!

Spotting could be really normal, but it could also mean something is wrong.  Only a doctor can determine that. If I were you I would go to the ER just to be sure. Do you have any cramping? Have you done anything strenuous recently? Sex and straining can also cause spotting.

I had spotting in the second trimester with my second and third child and carried that both to full term.

I've had spotting off and on throughout my first trimester and just experienced it this past weekend (I'm also 14 weeks). My baby has been fine but it's always scary to see. Go to your doc and get checked out. Go to the ER if your doc won't see you. It could be nothing other than a sensitive cervix, but go get checked out so you know.
