Another, please help me choose a carrier thread for #5:)

Thread Starter

So baby #5 is due in 8 weeks.  I have worn all my kids, started out with bulky, hot, and "groovy" Over the Shoulder Baby Holder, because it was the only sling I knew of at the time and Baby Bjorn.  Still have the very worn looking Baby Bjorn and plan to use it.  My oldest carries our cat in the OTSBH now, very funny!  For my youngest child I got a Maya Wrap ring sling and we both LOVED it!  However it "disappeared" at some point.

So I'm thinking of getting another Maya Wrap, because it was lightweight and great for NIP.  It is HOT and HUMID where we live, so that is a deciding factor for me in carriers.   I've looked at the Kozy carrier, Ergo, Moby Wrap and Action Baby Carrier websites.  I want something quick and easy that I can slip baby in and out of, all the tying looks complicated to me.  Also I would like something I could put on my back, because I want to try volunteering in the school cafeteria and I figure I will need baby on my back for that.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions:)

I think a soft structured carrier would work well for what your looking for.  I've heard rave reviews of most all of them, Ergo, Becco, Boba, etc.  I have a Becco Butterfly and love it, u can do front or back carry.  I think with the Ergo you can do those plus a hip carry.

I love our Ergo. Just bought our second for the newest baby. Works great for easy in and out and can be worn on the front, back, or hips. It can be kind of hard to buckle the top when front carrying but I usually have someone to help or buckle it first and then wiggle it over my head. No tying or wrapping or anything like that.

I love wraps for a newborn but if you want something super fast like a structured carrier, I would totally recommend the Beco Gemini. It fits really small babies without an insert and lasts for a long time. My DD was in it up to 23 pounds and the only reason I stopped using it is because I got my dream carrier

Hi.  I know you said you looked at the Action Baby Carrier website ... but I wanted to let you know we use it and love it.  It's easy for me to put on and off by myself and really isn't complicated.  I've used others before finding this one and some of the cheaper carriers were much more complicated and difficult to use, especially without the assistance of another adult.

I hope you find one you'll love but I wanted to let you know not to rule out out the Action Baby Carrier yet.  It goes from 8# to 40#, lots of great patterns ... and we have found ours to be durable, versatile and still looks great.  I find it to be comfortable and the babies have LOVED it.

It's my FIFTH carrier and if I would have found it sooner, I don't think I would have gone through so many baby carriers.

Good luck!!!

I Agree!! On my part, I had my Action Baby carrier as my second carrier. Totally, solved my back-ache problem that I had experienced on my first carrier..happytears.gif We had been using our ABC for some time now, and being lighter and cooler it had been comfy for my baby plus this is an SSC so it is easy to put on, and can be use in a back-carry. Hope this helps, goodluck.

By the way I am using there happy design, its in here http://www.actionbabycarriers.com/shop/happy/ I love it stillheart.gif
