Just wanted to share - my great iron boosting programme worked :)

So at 28 weeks my Hb was 8.4 and my ferrotin level was at 5.  My blood pressure is usually pretty low but this pregnancy it has been about 90-80/50 or less.

I had been using floradix all of my pregnancy until then so assume it was doing nothing.  A thing confirmed by my midwife who had just been to a conference on iron levels in pregnancy and it was presented that floradix had never ever been shown to actually lift women's blood results concerning iron, rather it was tonic for maintaining current levels (at best).

Anyway after lots of research I started taking Blood Builder (Mega Foods) and also liquid Chloropyll.   In conjunction with these I carried on taking my regular supplements: fermented skate liver oil, krill oil, msm, vit e, and a green drink.

I just was re-rested and now my Hb is up to 10.3 :)

No point in testing ferrotin this early apparently.  Anyway just wanted to share in case this might help anyone else.

nice!

I tested low at my 3rd trimester blood test.  I've been doing yellow dock tincture/capsules.  I haven't been retested but I like to think it's doing something :)

I struggle with anemia constantly, so I've had the chance to test a lot of stuff. Pur Absorb has made a huuuuge difference for me. Like I went from struggling to maintain 8 to a 13 in a single month with absolutely 0 side effects. It was incredible. I've also found that chlorophyll will make a big difference, but the effect tapers over time. So, I'm going to start taking the chlorophyll at 38 weeks. I want it maximized when I give birth. At a friend's encouragement, I've been taking nettle for about a week now. I'm unconvinced of it and I think it may be doing strange things to my poop.

I'd like to second the Pur Absorb. By taking it first thing in the morning with a glass of OJ, I moved my hemoglobin number from 9.9 to 11.9 in ONE WEEK.

I should also note that that week also involved cutting out caffeine and eating red meat for four meals (normally, I have red meat...maybe once per quarter). I still think that a lot of that movement can be attributed to the Pur Absorb, though.
