We just bought some new cream colored chairs and I was wondering if there are any eco-friendly ways to improve their stain-resistance? The guy at the store kept telling me to use scotch guard but I don't want a layer of teflon on furniture my kids will sit on. Any ideas?

post #2 of 28/25/12 at 12:06pmI think your best bet (unless they are dining room chairs) is not to allow food in that room and only water to drink. Then if something does get on them, deal with it right away. Beyond that, I don't know of any natural type of scotch guard. If they are dining room chairs, and you are serious about keeping them clean, then at my MIL's house, we put hand towels over the kids' chairs so they won't get any food on them.Return HomeBack to Forum: The Mindful Home- scotch guard alternatives?
