Anyone having heart palpitations?

I sure did yesterday.  Scared the living daylights out of me too because they went on *for hours*.  after 45 minutes, I called the doc.  His on call service said Uh, no, just go to the ER.  So off we went.  ECG, blood and urine later and... it's heart palpitations.  Gee, thanks, I hadnt figured that out by now.  So after 7 hours of almost continuous heart palpitations and no real answers as to why, I was sent home.

They are totally gone today.  Thank heavens.  Trying to breathe or talk while it feels like someone is sitting on your chest sucks!  I grabbed a liquid Calcium/Mag supplement on the way home and hopefully that will help.

So, anyone else experience the joy of heart palps?  Anyone ever experience continuous ones like that?

I haven't this pregnancy, but with my last baby I had them my whole first trimester. They would happen on and off all day every day. I hated it! I upped my cal/mag and potassium and they eventually went away.

Yup, but I get them every now and then anyway. Usually if I'm concentrating on something and not breathing efficiently that kinda sets it off.

I think I kind of had the perfect storm of causes this week.  High stress, pregnancy, high dose Zofran and being tired.  They haven't been back thank heavens.  A few I can deal with, hours of them?  No thank you!  Going to keep up the Cal/Mag supplements and hopefully they will stay away!

I have heart irregularities normally but it definitely gets worse when I'm pregnant. It can be really scary. For some reason my heart acts up when I lie down to sleep at night. It's something I'm going to bring up with my midwife when I see her next week. It runs in my family (and everyone who experiences them is completely healthy and hasn't had complications) so I'm not too concerned, but it can definitely be jarring.

That happens to my friend when she lays down.  She finally found out it has to do with her Vagal nerve.  You might ask about that?  I dont think theres anything they can do, but from what she said, it's also not dangerous, just scary and annoying.

Cool, I'll look into that. Thanks!

I get flutters/palpitations as well - I had a condition when I was a teen called WPW which caused that plus a racing heartbeat.  I ended up getting it fixed surgically, but I still get the flutters from time to time even though everything else is 'normal' now.  For some reason, this may sound odd, but I find two things trigger it - 1) having air in my stomach, like if I have to burp and its trapped way down low, and 2) if i'm hungry/empty stomach.

I haven't had them for hours though - not a nice feeling!  Hope it doesn't happen again!

I know the feeling! I have had them a lot for about the last 6 weeks or so. Really scary! I didn't have them with my first pregnancy, so it has me nervous. I see my OB for the first time Wednesday morning. I will ask then about it. Several times it has freaked me out enough that I have felt the start of a panic attack. I was able to calm myself down though.
