rental living in Carrboro/Chapel Hill area

Hi there,

We are moving down from upstate NY in about 5 or 6 weeks. Whew!

We = my parents, my hubby, our two children (girls, 7 and 3), our dog (mid-sized) and me.

I'll be coming down the first week of Sept. to find us rental housing. We're looking for 2 places near or next to each other. My parents are in their mid - upper 70's and will be relying on me especially when we first move and they are learning their way around the area.

Any suggestions for apartments/duplexes/other options that allow dogs and are (preferably) smoke free?

Thanks,

Julie

Bumping up for more attention.  Any ideas, local folks?

There are a lot of rentals in Chapel Hill although this is not a great time of year to find them. You're better off in May and June when the students leave town, but there should still be plenty. I don't have particular recommendations, though. Could you give a price range?

There are many apartment complexes and duplexes although many of them may be student-y. There are also many single family homes w/ in-law apartments or basement apartments.
